Would've been nice if the 15% off $75 and 25% off $125 applied. As far as the packs themselves, Sword and Shield is new. Cosmic Eclipse and Burning Shadows are kinda old, but both sets contain very valuable, albeit difficult to pull, cards. Evolutions is really old, but contain some really nice cards that are much easier to pull.

All in all the old packs are still desirable unlike Steam Siege and Fates Collide packs they use to stuff in collection boxes like this that nobody wants.

My son wants to some pokemon cards for his bday.

I saw 'GX' boxes at Costco for $9/ea. (3 variants: gengar, bewear, & tapukoko). Each box has 4 packs, 1 foil card, an online code & an oversized card.

Any advice what is the better buy in general?

Costco is slightly better deal per pack, especially if your son doesn't have a particular set in mind.

How long until Pokemon cards are banned for being "racist"?

Have these been "cancelled" like D&D and MTG yet?

I noticed once the others got cancelled; they went on sale on Amazon so they could make a hot buck.
