Does Apple typically provide free upgrades from HD to 4K if I buy this now and if/when this movie ever goes 4K on iTunes? I already know they upgrade to 4K if you redeem a HD code and they have 4K. Thanks.

In short, most-likely yes.

(Based on current Apple processes), if/when this movie is upgraded to 4K-digital on iTunes, those who purchased the HD-digital version from iTunes will have access to 4K-digital version on iTunes. The upgrade does not transfer to MA.

As an iTunes/Apple TV user, I'll make most HD movie purchases on iTunes with the hope for the future 4K upgrade.
