10 inch will cut a 4x4, with ease well that kinda depends on the saw and blade.

I have the hitachi version and like it. Closes up nice and small when I don't need it, and makes cuts as needed.

I was looking at the reviews on amazon. Top rated guy said it launched a projectile at him and after that it was a bunch of pictures of cracked bases/feet.

I'm actually looking for a 10 inch nonslider but it seems the build quality on this guy is really lacking

I have the Hitachi version and it's been fine for me. Laser would be nice, but I don't know if you could find a comparable 10" with a laser for under $100.

Dws779 is $280 at Home Depot. May need to use brickseek but it's not as scarce as most clearance deals.

If you need something basic, this is fantastic for home DIY projects. You may get some quality issues, but I don't think they're rampant with all builds.

I've used mine for doing shoe molding for my entire house, some raised beds projects, trimming down blinds, etc... Very handy and cheap.

I wish it had a laser line — make some cuts a tad more difficult with the kerf loss.

Price here is OK. These were $89.99 prior, pretty standard price a few months ago.
