I've bought this saw twice. My first was branded Hitachi, and it was reliable until I gave it to a friend. I rebought this exact model a month ago from Amazon warehouse. Mine arrived a little abused. I took the time to unbolt and realign everything with 90 degree assembly blocks. Now it's absolutely dead-on. Ran it all day for a few days, put it through several hundred cuts, and it's still dead on. I removed the plastic handle used for changing the miter angle, and bolted that in place since I'm using it as a dedicated 90 degree cross cut saw for crate building. I don't expect anything shy of dropping it is going to budge the alignment.

A few observations:

It's quite light for a 10". As miter saws go, it's medium-loud. There's no soft start, but it's quite stable and doesn't jump resting on an assembly table. Dust collection is pathetic. Even with a dedicated vac, it only catches about 10%. I improvised some 'cheeks' on either side of the blade housing, and that got dust collection up to about 60%, but IMO, the only way to run this thing is outside or with the doors wide open. I don't know why the round dust port narrows to a slit behind the blade, but as far as I can tell, that just allows it to clog itself with wood shreds while most of the fine dust sprays out beneath the port to either side as the blade enters the cut.

For the value, and for power and accuracy of cuts, for the portability, this thing is 5 stars. Taking into account dust collection, since that's important for an enclosed shop, I'd give it 3 stars. On a budget, if you can live with the dust going everywhere, I don't think you can get a more reliable saw. You're going to have to spend 4x as much (or more) for very good dust collection on a miter saw.

I knew all this when I purchased mine. I paid about $125, and I'm very happy with it. No regrets that I didn't wait, and if I upgrade later, I'll keep this one for mobile work.

Footnote for those wondering about using it for metal cutting - it spins a little too fast for optimal metal-cutting, and again, chip collection will be abysmal.

Heard it is a great brand. Any feedback from a current owner?

I have used cordless drills from many of the big brands and find Metabo (formerly Hitachi) to be the best bang for your buck. I have several of their drills and other cordless tools, pneumatic nailers, and their corded and cordless circular saw. All are great. Though I don't have this miter saw.

Bought this a few months ago and it works great. I'm a beginner hobbyist woodworker so it doesn't get a lot of rigorous use. I put a Diablo blade on it and I have no problems with it at all, especially for the price.

I have the version with the laser, great miter saw lots of power and was able to handle some decent sized molding. The included blade was actually pretty good too. It's heavy could be a pro or con depending how often you need to move this thing. It was bang on out of the box and everything felt really solid for the price point.

I know a lot of folks really like the compound sliding saws. As a homeowner, those always seemed like overkill, at least for my skill level. I have done about 1000ft of trim, flooring, and a deck build with it and worked well for my projects.

I've had this exact saw for years (mine still has the old Hitachi name on it). I love it! I've used it for several projects including a recent fence project. I just gave it to a family member last week who kept borrowing it throughout the years. At this price, I'm probably gonna buy another one.

Got one 2 years ago. Works well out of the box. My only complain is that the clamp to hold the materials can only be used on the left side since the right side it hits the plastic body of the saw, maybe design flaw or maybe me using the wrong side lol.
The other issue I came across, I bought a blade for metal to use it on aluminum tubing, the green plastic base where the blade penetrates got melted.

I have this and larger mitersaw with belss and whistles, but this is my primary miter saw. Easy to use and clean up. I got a Ryobi mitersaw stand from Homedepot, and works great for most of the home DIY projects.

Have a similar one and it has been good for laminate flooring and baseboard. If I were to go back I would buy one that slides.

I have the sliding version and I'm happy with it. One minor note is I stupidly changed out the blade and did something else before finishing and came back and forgot to tighten up the screw that holds the guard in place. When I used it, the blade hit the guard and shattered pieces everywhere. The replacement process was wonky. They use some third party and the price was almost half of the whole thing. Take that for what it's worth....coulda been worse, but it's held up pretty well. The base takes some adjustment but I'm happy.
