Tearing down the recent version, Logitech has moved away from Omron switches. There is a reason these were $79.99 and now selling dirt cheap.
All that to say, I love this mouse, but loath the reliability and dealing with Logitechs infuriating warranty process. If anything, I might pick one up for spare parts. Lol.
EDIT: For those asking, the new switch type is Kailh.

Maybe I've had different luck but none of my Logitech mice (G402 Hyperion Fury, G602, MX Anywhere, Performance MX, and some cheap $5 ones) have ever had issues. The only time I reached out to customer support was when a unifying receiver stopped working after like 5 years, and they sent me a new one no questions asked. The problem could just be isolated to this specific model?
Anyways, $30 for the G502 with the Hero sensor is a pretty solid deal if you need a good mouse. I wouldn't call it a steal, but it's definitely better than most other options at this price point.
