Can you use any liquid soap? Or has to be foam?

Almost any liquid soap. Specifically not foam (this is their liquid kind). I use soft soap fine. It might be difficult to use a very thick one like Palmolive.

I think the manufacturer recommends using their own soap (some reviews says their soap is a bit more soft than other brands), but I'm sure you can use other brands.

Looks like they cost about $60 each on Amazon [amazon.com], so the price seems good. However, some of the Amazon reviews are not good. The upside is that it has the Costco warranty.

I am thinking about it for the sake of keeping my marriage sane Smilie

I have nice Kitchen faucet from Kohler but dish soap disposal went bad in few weeks.
IMHO, soap disposal is stupid product for residentia in generall. Its not that you are contaminating the top by pressing the top as you normally do it with your wrist.
Moreover soap scum is hard to get rid of. Moreover relatively there will be more wastage as new user of this product won't know the feature to not put hand too much below the dispenser otherwise it will dispose too much soap.
And then you have to worry about which soap it works with ?
Instead why not just get new disposable bottle every once a while.

I have one and I think it's great for the house. I don't have to touch the soap dispenser when my hands are dirty. the dispenser stays clean the entire time. This is one of those electric automated stuff that I do approve, instead of those sensor trash can that opens slow as hell

One annoying thing is that it's a proprietary charger, no micro-usb, type- C, or another standard that everyone already owns. Replacement charging cable (uses USB) is $10, not terrible just annoying.

I asked the same question because I have read reviews that certain soaps can clog the pump. Other users in the last thread mentioned they never had problems with other soaps. However if you look at the amazon questions page others have mentioned clogging.

It says that simplehuman recommends soap with out exfoliants and supposedly they listed soaps that can be used.

I purchased simplehuman soap when I ordered mine during the beginning of covid when they had a deal and ordered some of their soap and I notice it's a lot more liquid than softsoap. I like the soap but the smell wasn't something I liked. I ordered a variety and didn't like variety so hopefully their other soaps smell better.

True but I think with this model the proprietary charger is used because you can wash the dispenser under the faucet without worrying of water leakage into the charging port. The charger is like an apple laptop maglink charger.

The older version uses rechargeable AA batteries if you like that version which has a clear backing so you can see the level of soap but I don't think you can wash the dispenser under the faucet. Just wipe it down with a cloth.

Price history shows it was $40 for a really small time frame. It was at a steady $50 for a long time up to 2019 though.

Simplehuman also has a 13 fl oz model (Model:ST1031) that has been as low as $50 before and comes with a caddy for a sponge or whatever. It's out of stock but if you're in no hurry for a sensor soap dispenser, might be better to wait until the 13 fl oz model comes back in stock or if they produce something similiar in that price range.

It is. 9 fl oz is nothing. Many other manufacturers out there that produce 700 ml dispensers for much less. They aren't as "cool" or "stylish" as some of these products but it's cheaper and you don't have to refill it as often.

Do you think it could dispense hand sanitizer?
