I have put together a guide to get 27 months of xbox live ultimate for less than $73. The retail value is over $400. Please read the notes before proceeding.


Step 1: Buy 2 cd keys Brazil 12 month xbox live codes

Step 2: Download tunnelbear on phone or computer and connect to Brazil VPN
https://www.tunnelbear.com
Step 3: Login to Microsoft and redeem one code through Brazil VPN and turn on recurring billing to get a free month
https://redeem.microsoft.com
Step 4: Turn off recurring billing for xbox live gold
Step 5: Login to Microsoft and redeem one code through Brazil VPN and turn on recurring billing to get a free month
Step 6: Turn off recurring billing for xbox live gold
Step 7: Disconnect from VPN and delete tunnelbear if you wish
Step: 8: Purchase one month of xbox live ultimate for $15 and that will also upgrade your entire xbox live gold for 1:1 ratio

Step 9: Enjoy xbox live ultimate for 27+ months

Notes:
-Your Xbox Live Ultimate, Gold and Game Pass must be expired for this to work (As long as everything you previously had is now expired this deal will work)
-Use a card that has no foreign transaction fee at cd keys
-The cdkeys price has fluctuated it was $25 but is now $29.
-If you have never had xbox ultimate before you may be able to upgrade the xbox live gold for $1 but that is YMMV

Per the steps above, it's 12 + 1 + 12 + 1 + 1. Which does add up to 27. I didn't know that you can get more than one extra month by turning on recurring billing, turning it off, and then turning it on again. Can anyone confirm?

NO IDEA why all the downvotes. I just did it and it worked like a champ! And I have never had ultimate so it upgraded me for $1. So now I have ultimate until 10/6/2022 for $59. Big Grin

Thanks for the post!!!! Saved me a bunch of cash and my kids can get back online since they are pretty much stuck at home, and they get ultimate!

Alternatively according to other posts on this topic, you can max it all to 3 years if you eliminate recurring billing steps for free months.

I don't know why people are downvoting this. I just did it and got 26 months of Gold. Now I can do the $1 GP Ultimate conversion. I could get a 3rd 12 month pass but 26 months is enough for me! I don't know if the $1 conversion will add on a month though, about to find out.

Edit: Decided to get a 3rd 12 month pass but redeem.microsoft.com won't let me redeem Frown It says "Hold off extending this right now. You've reached the limit of how far you can extend a subscription. Depending on the product it could be 2-5 years." I guess because it would push me past 36 months. Oh well. I have an extra Xbox live gold code now for some point in the future, or I can sell/gift it to a friend somewhere.

2nd Edit: Just joined Game Pass Ultimate for $1 (since I'm new and never had GP Ultimate before) and it added on a month and now everything should be converted to GP Ultimate until 10/6/2022. So this method DEFINITELY WORKS!!! THANK YOU OP!

Can anyone comment if this still works? A post in another xbox thread said they connected to Brazil via VPN and received an error when trying to apply the code.

I just did this and it worked correctly. I think all down votes are coming from people doing this when their xbox live gold or game pass isn't expired, it must be completely expired.

To clarify the 2 additional free months, Redeem the first code > select recurring billing for a free month > then disable recurring billing > redeem the second code > select recurring billing for a free month > then disable recurring billing

I did this 7/17/20 and my Game pass ultimate shows an expiration date 10/18/2022
