Well I got one. I'd been stalking these for a week now. A little more than I wanted to spend, but it's new, so no issues with warranty or anything.

Best price I've found was the apple employee/gov EMP family deal for $891. Test units pop up on offer up for $750 from time to time, but they go quickly. And there is a lot of noise there with fake accounts muddying the waters.
This beats apple deal by $20 bucks,.except those who didn't pay taxes.

This is a very high quality drone, best among my Phantom 3, Mavic Spark and Mavic Air original. BUT, the newer drones like my new Mavi Air 2 can't even fly it at my house and need to drive several miles to fly without requesting permission.

I purposely don't upgrade my firmwares on my older drones because it'll geofence and lock 'em down.

I think, but not positive, that they implemented a process to basically say you are overriding that geofence. Would welcome others that have more experience with this.

I requested an FAA class D approval for the airspace near my house and they gave me a two year broad authorization and said I could fly anywhere in that class D space, as long as I was under the altitude limits in AirMap and on their website (usually 200 or 400ft). Been working great and may be something worth looking into.

You do have to register this drone with the FAA, costs about $5 and takes 10 minutes or so.

Just FYI the photo is wrong on here. It shows the Mini fly more combo instead of the MA2.
Thanks - post updated. Got excited to share and posted too fast

I'd say you can't go wrong with either. Skydio's active track function is definitely better/refined. But for all other purposes I would say MA2

I'm sure there is a way to downgrade the newer drones to older firmware... right?

the skydio controller is extra right? so it's more expensive to start and you still need to add a controller.

I believe I was able to override the geofence with my MA1. I only flew up to about 50 feet, so I don't know if it caps your altitude.
