This Monoprice Monolith 15 is a beast of a subwoofer and good price given this model doesn't go out on sale frequently. If anyone is looking for an alternative 15 inch ported with similar performance I would suggest taking a look at http://www.hsuresearch.com/produc...5hmk2.html I have owned this sub for 2 years now and can positively recommend this to anyone
How does the monolith 15 compare with vtf3-mk5? I have a hard time deciding between the two. Currently have a monolith 10 and while I love the clean bass it produces I feel like it lacks punch in my basement now. Used to be in my 13x11 bedroom and it was great.

Patiently waiting on a deal for the Monolith 10...
Thr was a time people snagged those for below $400. I gave up and took a SVS PB1000 for $400 in Thanksgiving

I'd be interested in knowing or seeing the rest of your set up
I'm using a Denon 3600 for the receiver. I have older energy speakers (older brand) setup with 5.1.4 config. Nothing crazy. I have little kids and they have knocked things over multiple times. Not ready for the next level of speakers yet. The sub is definitely the most expensive single piece. The sub helps fill out the sound and the Denon audessy flatted out many peaks. The system sounds good for a mostly modest setup. It is impressive on big action movies when people used to come over.

I bought it last year when they had one of their rare 20% off sales it applied to. Haven't seen that sale again though. One thing to note is the monoprice warranty. It is 5 years but they do exchange the entire thing.

Appreciate the insight. How are you liking your PB-1000? Any regrets? I'm thinking I may just get one of those too. For $400 did you get it from one of their open box deals? Thinking I may do that too once they have the sale again since it includes the full bill of rights and warranty, etc.

If you have $30,000 and want a setup more befitting the "monolith" name, or you need flat frequency response down to 5 Hz, then perhaps this would fit your living room better:

That is a 12' projector screen for size reference.

No regrets. I got it in warehouse sale. Could be open box but looks absolutely new. Not a scratch on it. Anyway it has 5 years warranty.
Relatively small room 13*16*9. I just feel monolith has extra Power which could have been more bang for buck

I recently bought this and received a DOA unit. This weighs 150lbs and is very hard to move around and unbox. While I was excited to feel the low end 20hz bass I decided to stick with my 2 smaller easier to manage subs. Returning this was a pain and the process of unboxing another with potential issues wasn't worth it. Hope others have a better experience. I do love my other monoprice in wall speakers.

It's more equivalent to the VTF5

I got rid of mine for a PB-2000, the 1000 was too lackluster. If I did it again, I'd probably get a HSU VTF3

Been waiting for this to go on sale. I just ordered 4 (one for each corner) and can't wait to her and feel them. I already ran the extra power lines and installed the extra outlets. I have my Ace Of Bass CD cued up and ready to go. /s

I wouldn't say Hsu is a top choice these days. The electronics warranty (the part that really matters) is only 2 years, while many like SVS are 5 years on everything. I have two VTF3-MK5's. One has some electronic component failing (high pitch whine) just after warranty expiration and they charge over $100 to fix it.

There is no such thing.
