Monolith 15" 1000W ported subwoofer $1200($240 discount)

These don't go on sale all that often, so here we go with my 1st post.

I have a pair of the 12" little brothers already, or I would be on this! The 12" version is awesome, this is considerably better.

Ah just in time for my new neighbors that moved in next door... let me show them who's the boss...
This is a long read but has pretty good info on how audioholics (one of the trustable and knowledgeable reviewers out there) certify each subwoofer they review https://www.audioholics.com/louds...-room-size if you want to skip all reading, the monolith 15 is extreme certified which means this should easily fill spaces greater than 5000 cu feet. Hope this helps
Picture is only half of the movie.
What is more of a question is if you don't care about high end audio, why are you in a thread for it?

Does anyone know what Monoprice's return policy on these subs are? Bought 1, was going to wait until it arrives Friday to make sure I liked it before purchasing another but if return shipping is free I think I'll buy 2... Just don't want to be stuck paying return shipping on these massive items.

Boy, ya'll must be a bunch of rich mo-fo's to consider this a Slickdeal. I would jump on this in a heartbeat, but it's $1,100 above my budget for a sub 😂.

Keep in mind all a 2nd sub really adds is wider, smoother dispersion doesn't actually improve the sound.
Adding a second (same) sub placed where the frequencies are in phase (ie placed next to each other) will add 6dB of SPL headroom (will play louder). It will not improve the sound unless you were already pushing the single sub to it's limit.

Adding a second sub and placing them properly inside the room will yield improved sound quality because the second sub will help with smoothing out the frequency response over a wider listening area.

Sub frequencies are omni-directional. Adding a second sub will not yield wider, smoother dispersion. Properly implemented, you should not be able to pinpoint where the sub is located.

Quote from supermanrob :
I get many consider more output(dB's) as "improvement" so depends who you ask and believe.
Agreed, many confuse louder as better.

Quote from supermanrob :
Again there are many other factors but that's a crucial one along with placement.
Agree again. There are many factors in determining a good setup for sub(s). Whether you buy one or multiple, placement is key. Buying a sub and simply throwing it in a corner or hiding behind things is not often going to produce good results.

For anyone interested in this level of subwoofer who are remotely handy with tools, DIY will yield the same quality sound for less or better quality sound for the same price. How good the sub looks will be dependent on your skill level. There is no one sub design that is best for all.

You just need to know your budget, what you want to achieve and how big of a sub (or subs) can you fit in your space. If you are especially handy, they don't even need to look like subs. I've seen people build it into a coffee table, ottoman and end table. You would not know there were subs in the room if you weren't told.

At least 50 points on retail. Higher end speakers are usual 60. This is why you will see discounts as high as 50% on occasion.

Sorry we haven't popped over to say hi. I've been preoccupied getting the perfect placement for the two PB16-Ultras. When I'm done, should I wave or cue up the Rage Against the Machine?

SVS subs are better quality and dig deeper than HSU(I speak as a HSU 15H sub owner). I wish i had gotten the pb2000
Thanks for this, I bought the pb2000 and was wondering if I made a mistake due to all the great HSU reviews.
