When I went to Costco to activate the membership, I was offer a cooler bag and another $30 Shop card if I upgraded to the Executive card and apply for the Citi Costco credit card.

For current members, be on the lookout for an offer for a $20 cash card in the mail, if you sign up for auto renew membership. I got mine last week and almost trashed it but my husband opens every letter we get, ever since I threw his $500 reimbursement card in the trash by mistake.

It is. If you have a partner then do not add them to your membership and keep alternating between the two of you each year whenever deals like this pop up.

I am currently alternating between Costco and Sam's club. Costco's rules seem much more strict.

No matter.

Without food samples I don't need a Costco membership this badly.
