Wow. The number of douchy comments that can accumulate on these threads never ceases to amaze me. When people like you post this stuff, it just makes me feel bad for you and wonder what level of inadequacies you are trying to overcompensate for.
I think there are better options available at this price range but I'm not going to put down people that are looking at this price point because I understand that people of all incomes may not NEED a $2K laptop when they just need something to check their email and do light work on.
Next time, think first and be better
Detailed specs [lenovo.com]

Though this model is a good value for $350, the display has a 220 nit, non-touch, TN panel. Also, the keyboard isn't backlit if that's important to you.
Every year some new thing to complain about becomes a trend. First it was backlit keyboards, touch screens. Now its "nits". An excessive amount of people talking about it now like its a crucial deal breaker. Little ridiculous.

also unless you're an old man, backlit is really not that important as most people know where every key is and the laptops glare lights up the keyboard well enough

Good laptop for the money. However, not worth upgrading in anyway.

Not really sure what people are complaining about here especially during covid time. This computer for this price range has everything that cover 90% or more of what people do.

It's on par with what most company laptops have including the following important things :
-8gb ram
-250gb of ssd
-10th Gen fast 2 core i3 cpu
-1080p display.

Yeah you can always demand more but this type of spec easily works for most. That includes most office works as well.

Yes, you can always demand more but....

Yup, about same price as a Chromebook and 10x better.

I agree with you! I just want some help trying to find an inexpensive laptop that would be OK. You all have scared the crap out of me on buying one. Is any laptop that people post on here worthy enough to teach with? Thank you

With the way price/value go these days you are better off with a $500 budget.. these are entry level laptops that are only about 35-40% faster than my 5 year old i5 6200u-- faster on benchmarks mainly because of faster ram and SSD.. there is potential to find a bigger battery on the $500 laptops too and no ram soldered.

Hey folks! Last question if possible. I am torn between this one and spending the 600 to get the two in one. As an educator, which one would you buy? I like to make graphics, do you desktop publishing for school, and teach on zoom. I also used to do cartooning and things like that so the two in one seemed appealing, but is it worth the extra money? Lenovo Flex 5 14" 2-in-1 Laptop, 14.0" FHD (1920 x 1080) Touch Display, AMD Ryzen 5 4500U Processor, 16GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, AMD Radeon Graphics, Digital Pen Included, Win 10, 81X20005US, Graphite Grey https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086226...cFbFJMBV12

Any thanks for any assistance

I'm trying to make the same decision. Ultimately it will come down to how much money I really want to spend. I think value for dollar is really similar here -- the 349 deal will be a solid pc for 2-3 years and the flex specs should be viable for 5. The flex has more bells and whistles and will remain viable for almost twice as long, for almost twice the money - makes sense, similar value. You can't go wrong with either. The Flex is more fun, the cheaper option perhaps the more disciplined purchase if one is aiming to meet very specific needs.

What is with all the negative comments? It is a $350 laptop. For that price...you usually get a screen that is below 1080p.

I've been out of the computer buying game for a while, so pardon this question: My wife has tasked me with getting a laptop for our 1st grader to do learning from home this coming semester. Seeing as how all I'm REALLY worried about is access to school programs via the internet(maybe some Zoom sessions and a website?) I assume this is more than adequate, but would greatly appreciate someone with a little insight to any downsides I may not be considering give me any advice with this unit? Seems like it would be exactly what we need. Thanks for any help!

I think the only downside as people said would be TN screen. TN screen meaning not as bright compare to IPS screen and viewing angle is narrower. For laptop and taking out to say library or cafe and don't want others to view your screen TN would be a great choice. IPS panel only gets popular for the last 5 to 10 years. Personally I don't really care I have both. Now if your kid(s) some how compares with their friends or classmates...I don't know.

The best device to appear in that range imo was a zenbook bestbuy open box at 495 which was briefly available, otherwise new was 549. Also there was an office depot 4500u deal for under 500 but i think both are gone for now.

I'd keep your eyes peeled for an ideapad 5 300nit 4500u/8/256 for 500. Seems likely to happen if you can wait a bit, imo

Not much action in the 400-500 price range currently. Some mildly interesting stuff in the bargain bin, and the $600 lenovo flex deal is the next milestone on the price chart.
