I think there are better options available at this price range but I'm not going to put down people that are looking at this price point because I understand that people of all incomes may not NEED a $2K laptop when they just need something to check their email and do light work on.
Next time, think first and be better
Though this model is a good value for $350, the display has a 220 nit, non-touch, TN panel. Also, the keyboard isn't backlit if that's important to you.
also unless you're an old man, backlit is really not that important as most people know where every key is and the laptops glare lights up the keyboard well enough

I added a 2242 to my laptop and the cheapest one I could find was $100 for a 512gb.
Huh, that's cool, I didn't think there were slots that took both the 2242 and 2280. Maybe it's Lenovos weird thing where they put it in the 2.5 inch bay...
I was putting one in the wwan slot which is why I was constrained to that size

My old ThinkPad E540 only supported M.2 2242 SATA but the newest Lenovos I've checked out typically just use an adapter/extender to fit the M.2 2242 SSD into a M.2 2280.

There was a review for the Acer that helpfully showed the internals and it showed a M.2 2280 SSD installed (whether stock or aftermarket upgrade, I don't know).

Both are 350. I was able to apply a 25 off 75 coupon for Staples. Hence this one is 35$ cheaper than Costco one.
Pros of this one: 15.6" display. Lenovo brand. No noisy fan (read that in other thread for HP one).
Pros of HP: IPS screen, 250 nit (instead of 220 nit for Lenovo), 3.4lb compared to 4.1lb for Lenovo. Backlit keyboard, And i like 14" (personal preference)
Which one you experts suggest. Thanks for your help.
i regret not getting one (or more) at $199. it's still being sold but is now $330-350. my kids are starting school next month and it's looking like it's going to be remote.

The HP from Costco has the backlit keyboard but the whole keyboard is gray. In the dark, the backlit keyboard words. In the day time or with the lights on, the keyboard is horrible unless you are looking almost straight down. Apparently HP engineers missed this in their design.
IMHO I went with Costco because of their 90 days return policy. No hassle and their executive membership cash back. I also contemplated retuning Costco's and buying this one. In the end, we kept the HP from Costco because of their return policy.
