You're not alone, but it's just like anything else different people liking different things. I never understood why people need cars with 600 horsepower to go grocery shopping either. I have several friends with pick-up trucks that have never hauled anything but to each their own.
I use them outside and change the color for different holidays, Halloween orange, saint Patrick's day green, Christmas red, etc. The kids like them in their rooms to. They are usually $25

Maybe I'm alone in this opinion (I don't think I am) but I have zero interest in colored lights. Some people may enjoy them and I'm sure they have some interesting applications that folks have come up with, but when putting smart bulbs throughout my house, I never once thought about getting multi-color bulbs. They cost more and I don't need to be able to have my house transform into a brothel or a night club when I'm going to the bathroom or getting a snack.

So true. I have friends who wear Rolex watches, when a Timex could tell the same time.

Consider taking a purple shower sometime. I like being able to change from daylight for washing, then relaxing in a nicely colored bath with the same bulbs.

I have one, for my nightstand lamp. While it's fun to occasionally play with different colors, it's usually set to some whitish hue. However, although it's in a fairly narrow band, I do like the ability to change not just the intensity, dimmer as soothing background light and brighter for reading, but also the color, softer white for background and closer to daylight for reading. There are dimmable white light bulbs, but I don't think there are non-RGB bulbs that can change color temp.

That said, what's so special about this bulb? $20 for a basic 800 lumen RGB WiFi bulb? You can get them for $10-$15 now.

Very true. Like I said, I'm sure plenty of people have come up with interesting uses that fit their needs. I'm not condemning anyone's purchase choices (I don't care enough to do so). I just haven't found any uses for me. I shouldn't have stated that though because the unwritten rule of Slickdeals is that if you don't post your opinion against a product in a very specific way, people will take offense and down vote like crazy.
On the plus side, I've seen some interesting comments about how others use these lights that seem pretty fun so I'm still taking something away.

That's cool. I didn't realize you could change the white hues with colored bulbs. Great tip!
And yes, I agree. This just doesn't seem like a good deal unless you already have Kasa smart home devices and prefer to keep all of your smart branding the same

To start a discussion. I've now learned a lot of interesting ways people use these lights. It hasn't changed my opinion about buying them for my own needs right now but I can see potentially giving them a shot in the future
