Review on Amazon: Not for normal sized adults:

This mask fits children and very small adults only. At 6'1" and 165lbs., I'm not a big specimen Smilie These masks are so tight that I'd rather stay home and vegetate than be strangled. If I want my ears severed I am sure that I can find a better way.
P.S. These are really well made and a bargain if you are a family of Lilliputians.
If they fit normal size adults than a five star rating would be in order.

question... if I do end up with coronavirus on the outside of the mask, how do I disinfect it in the washing machine? will regular bleach be strong enough to kill off the coronavirus?

Soap and water the same way you disinfect your hands.

The mask is intended to prevent your respiratory droplets from leaving the mask, which is believed to be the main way the virus spreads. Face masks, not the KN95 or N95 respirators, are designed to keep you from unknowingly spreading the virus to others. They are not designed to prevent you from inhaling the virus.

But, theoretically if COVID got on the outside of your mask, you can put it in the washing machine or use soap and water and that will kill it.

Why this stuff is so expensive ? Are they still price skimming people just because the virus is still there.
Supply and demand, and brand recognition pricing. These are made in Vietnam, not China - so folks might be targeting off of that too. If price is an issue consider the WD37U brand [amazon.com] which are made in China and supposedly have copper and silver. I ordered them, and they run a little small, but more comfortable long-term than the medical masks.

These have silver imbedded into them. They are 3 ply and supposedly good for 15 washes before the silver wears away. But I'm going to use them way more than that if I can.

A dollar a mask that is 3ply is actually a decent price.

What you are saying is absolutely correct as far as the intent and motivation so far in encouraging face covering. And "not designed to prevent you from inhaling the virus" is carefully worded enough to be true as well.

That said, the people out there who have no interest in wearing a covering to help others need to know that the "face covering doesn't protect you" line has been WAY overstated.A covering over your mouth and nose through a cloth covering or mask significantly reduces (not eliminates) your chance of inhaling a large viral load. That a single virus is smaller than the filtering capabilities of the covering is correct, but the reduction in total viral load inhaled is important in reducing the chances of getting, and if you do get it, the severity of the disease.

So wear the mask or covering to help yourself if you aren't interested in helping others. Its usefulness in protecting you is much better than zero.

A face mask does both. It lowers the chance that you will spread it. It lowers the chance that you will catch it. The response from the US public health agencies has been puzzling. It's like we've gone from the best in the world to the worst. Birx saying that there is some evidence that wearing a mask may prevent a healthy person from catching a respiratory illness last week is an example. No shit. That's been known science for years. That's why healthcare professionals wear masks when dealing with infected people.

There is no reason there is so much emphasis on N95 masks. Studies have shown there isn't much difference, if any, between wearing a N95 masks versus a procedure mask in terms of catching a respiratory illness. Both are just as effective.

So wear a mask, any kind of mask, to protect others and yourself.
