I thought this was a good deal, at least for me.

Add 730 days (2 years) of service, 1500 minutes, 1500 texts, and 1.5GB to an existing Tracfone account for $125 plus tax... and it should work without much trouble and hassle unlike the eBay deals with preloaded SIMs that cause a lot of trouble for people.

Log into your Tracfone account, go to "BUY AIRTIME" for the phone number you want to add service to and ADD the $125 smartphone plan. Click CONTINUE. Use promo code 22448 to take $50 off (be sure to click APPLY PROMO after you type it in). Select the option to add another 365 "Extra Service Days" for $49.99.

Total should end up being $124.99 plus tax for 2 years of service, 1500 more minutes, 1500 more texts, and 1.5GB more data.

$39.99 x 2 eBay Tracfone deals is a better deal. Sure you have to swap the SIM, but it's 5 mins.

Or even two of these is cheaper: https://www.hsn.com/products/sams...at/9203496

Yeah, I went with something like that and wasted a bunch of time on it.

Now my son's Tracfone doesn't have working mobile data even though he has over 3GB of it. I recently contacted Tracfone chat about it and they said I need a new SIM... so I have to waste more time getting his phone fixed because the eBay SIM I had to swap to is screwed up now.

So if those deals work for you without issue (lucky you!) or you don't mind wasting a bunch of time getting things fixed when they don't work then sure, save some money.

Just buy 2 $50 phones on ebay with 1 year service and switch service to 1st then 2nd then back to your current phone and get twice the minutes data text for $25 less and no sim card hassle

What's the best way to swap the SIM?
I could never figure out the correct way, and always need to contact tracfone CS, and of course they are pretty much clueless.

Let's say I got that HSN deal, what will I choose on tracfone.com to activate? I want to keep my existing number and balance, and also my own unlocked phone. Essentially I just want the minutes off the new phone applied to my existing phone. Then, remove that newly purchased phone from the account, so if I were to sell it, they won't be able to mess with my account.

Thanks.

Trac fone just scammed people after canceling and turning back order on route - put of few dollars they charged they only refunded 6 ~7 cents. Stay away

Can you please elaborate a bit? I understand what you are saying, but what exact steps do I take on tracfone site starting with the new phone? I want to keep my own phone and existing number. I do not mind having to buy extra sim cards for $1 at bestbuy

True, you should put in a credit card dispute.

Log in to your account. Go to activate, keep number, choose number you want to transfer to new SIM. Existing balance and new SIM balance will combine. Rinse, repeat. Put active SIM into whatever current phone you're using.

So I kind of screwed up here. Was on ATT towers, the new phone apparently have verizon sim in it, so activating that phone moved my existing number from ATT to Verizon towers. Now battling with CS to have it switched back to ATT towers.

Just get a new sim which is ATT compatible. Bestbuy/Target sells 3 sim kit at $1 (sims for all 3 networks). Activate the one which says ATT and you are done.

I can do this on my own from the website right?
Tracfone CS is so dumb, they claim I cannot move it back to ATT compatible, and I have to use CDMA phone. That's definitely BS.

You met some wrong guy. But yea, I moved to a new place and wanted to see which network was good here. I got that kit from tracfone ebay store $1+ tax free ship 2 day UPS. Tracfone doesn't sell those 3 sim kit on their website,so buy from their ebay store or BB or Target etc. Follow same procedure as above. I moved my number across all 3 networks, tried their service for a day or two each and then went back to Tmobile network based on performance. Just take a scree shot of your benefits, at times people have lost them. with screenshot, you can recover most of them by talking to CS to add them manually.
