Thomson 7.5 cu. ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator $189.98 @ Sam's YMMV

Regular price: $229.98 - $40 instant savings = $189.98 (plus applicable sales tax) in store.

This is a "true freezer" mini fridge, similar in specs and capacity to the Galanz 7.6 cu. ft. fridge that Home Depot is presently selling for $320.09.

Yeah, these type of fridges have been cheaper, but Covid-19 food hoarding has made deals on fridges few and far between. OOS for shipping, so expect a typical brick and mortar YMMV goose chase (check local stock on Samsclub.com and cross your fingers that it actually exists when you get to the store).
Good Deal?

Not just the food hoarders need but people who ended up with extended family living with them or college kids now at home...

Just got a sodastream. Wondering if I should get this just to keep water cold for carbonation. 🤔

I use a water dispenser with my soda stream. Gives enough cold water at a time to fill the big jug. Plus hot water for soups etc

total garbage, i've had two and a neighbor bought one, none of them lasted more than 14 months and none would get colder than 42-44 on the bottom even on max setting. FDA says dairy products should be kept 35-39 degrees. if space is an issue, pay more and get a G.E. !

I have noticed that being an issue with newer models. They're actually more energy efficient not because of better technology but because they do not get as cold as older models.
I used to have an older model (10+years) that if set up to max. The top refrigerator self would actually freeze items.

I agree. It'll also freeze everything at the back on the top and middle shelves. And, it's a good possibility it'll arrive dented with broken shelves. Stay away if you're smart and don't want to waste $$$.

Maybe you got a dud. I have this refrigerator in a room with no air conditioning in the Texas heat (100°+) and I actually had to turn the temperature control down because it was freezing my beer!

This seems like an incredible deal, as most other 7.5 ish cubit foot fridge/freezers are $300+! In fact, this one on Ebay right now is going for over $500 including shipping on EBAY https://www.ebay.com/p/6027494271 !

I drove amost 100 miles today and got one. I guess time will tell.
