Do you go on every 55 inch TV thread and say you want a 75 inch TV?
Btw, try fitting a 15 inch laptop into most international hotels' safe.

8/24/2020 _ Started USB-C Power Bank test today.
Power supplied by a 20,000 mAH ElecJet power bank [amazon.com] using the included ElecJet USB-C to USB-C power cable.
Pin adapter 3.0mm x 1.1mm [amazon.com] fits satisfactorily. It is about 1/8 inch too long, so the barrel sticks out from the laptop slightly, but otherwise fits just fine.
Initial charging level = 19.9V @ 2.05A = 40.8W, measured using this multimeter [amazon.com].
The laptop charged from 5% to 72% in the first 60 minutes, so the USB-C pin adapter seems to be working!
I will post the first test results when completed later today.

I've had mine for three days now and been so busy putting it through the paces of run time tests and recharge tests that I haven't really had much time to play around on it. All I can say is that the screen is gorgeous, an absolute pleasure to watch.
It's been performing well for me with no issues except the finger print reader seems finicky at times. Really like the QLED display and portability.

I'm very annoyed by the fingerprint sensor placement on the alpha. Splitting the shift key like that has thrown off my typing cadence considerably, especially for code. I'm trying to get used to it but I'm trying to undo a lifetime of pinky muscle memory. It's a small thing but if you're annoyed every time you use the device it really colors your perspective.
My other big disappointment is the pen performance. Compared to the SP4 or even the defective Flex 5 I had to return, the pen tracking is really slow and imprecise. The alpha isn't compatible with the S pen, yet they pre-installed all the software and services that say S pen everywhere. Instead we get the MPP protocol pens and they don't work that well. I wouldn't mind if they worked better, but now I feel like Samsung is mocking me.
If you don't plan to use the pen as extensively as I do, and you can get used to the shift key, I see no real issues with this laptop. It's super nice otherwise.

I bought mine on the last day of the sale and contacted the. Last week to inquire about a return. They extended my return window by 2 weeks from then

I'm not a pen user, so it doesn't color my impression one way or the other.
As to the keyboard, I haven't really typed much on it yet. My initial impression was that I didn't like the flat keys, but the key travel and pressure response seemed satisfactory. I didn't notice the fingerprint sensor issue.
Looked okay to me.

EDIT: I clicked on an old link that I had for that discussion thread. It came back with a page that said, "Oops! This deal was removed for not meeting our quality standards."
I don't know what quality standards that deal violated. Best Buy seems to be a reputable vendor. The laptop is still on sale and in stock at the price quoted [link] [bestbuy.com]. I don't recall who posted the original thread, maybe there was a problem with a fake account?
Probably because there was a referral code.
Couldn't they just delete the referral code posts instead of deleting the whole thread?

Oh, and about your power experiment: my power charger connector sticks out at least 1/8" too, so I'm not sure why that matters.
It's pretty cool that you've found a way to deliver power to the laptop using a USB-C power adapter. Very useful since they don't sell the power brick standalone on their website.
I suspect most people who want USB-C charging want it so they can plug in a single USB-C "hub" as a dock that stays connected to video, Ethernet, their keyboard+mouse and provides power.

$62.97 Adapter [samsungparts.com]
$7.95 Power Cord [samsungparts.com]
Personally, I wanted the USB-C charging so that I didn't need to carry around the power adapter and to avoid the hassle of hunting for a free electric outlet. Much easier to use a power bank.

Attached spreadsheet shows readings taken while charging the Samsung Galaxy Book Flex Alpha laptop with a USB-C power bank via 3.0mm x 1.1mm pin adapter. For details on the setup, please refer this earlier post.
Included are two versions of the same attachment: an XLS document and a JPEG document. Hopefully, you can read one of the formats.

Comments:
Two complete tests of the USB-C power bank charging were conducted. Each of the tests was broken up into two parts. Part A started with a fully charged power bank. It recorded readings made while charging the laptop from 5% (empty) to 100% (fully charged laptop).
.
Note: Storing fully charged batteries for long periods of time may lead to decreased battery life. So, routinely topping off might not be a good idea if you don't use your laptop regularly.

Part B started with the power bank at whatever residual level it may have after having fully charged the laptop in Part A. However, in both tests, the power banks lasted no more than a few minutes before terminating.
- Very little useful information was yielded by the Part B results.
- Basically, all that can be said from those results is that there is very little charge left in the power bank after completing the first recharge cycle (Part A).
