If you can get past the dated graphics, it's one of the best sci-fi series ever on television. You can absolutely tell the care that J. Michael Straczynski put into building this universe and that he had a five year plan to bring it to life.

The fifth season does disappoint some, due to cancellation threats he ended up squeezing the plot he had for season four and season five into one season, then when it was renewed unexpectedly he had to come up with more. That being said, my favorite episode is still in season five. Lots to love here.
Not a bad deal. Only includes the series, and not the movies before anyone asks.
Welcome! Season one has some rough "Monster of the week" type episodes, push through. I promise once the show kicks into gear you won't want to let go.

Thank you! I've never seen it before and had it on my wishlist. It was on prime video but they took it off before I got to it.

I hope it isn't as visually jarring as the upscaled version streaming on Amazon Prime.

SD (standard definition) only. Still a good deal for a great show.

Sadly SD is the only format available. If you're curious as to why, see this article

I'd like to know as well. Amazon Prime Video's upscaled SD content is terrible - just look at Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

That's the cheapest I've ever seen it so made sure to grab it myself. Not an easy series to find anywhere streaming. Unfortunately it is still only SD.

I'll put Season 3 and 4 up against ANY show ever for best storyline.

This and Six Feet Under are in SD only, but worth it when they go on sale. (SFU was $30 recently but I decided not to go for it out of hope for HD someday). However, B5 for $30 is as good as it's going to get for streaming.

I agree with what the others have said, amazing series ahead of it's time (structurally, it feels very modern). It was one of the first series that had its whole run planned out from the beginning so major story arcs from season one and two played out until the end. Babylon 5 also took an interesting approach of not making humanity some uberpowerful utopian society (in fact we were much closer to the opposite, nearly wiped out from a war and approaching a dictatorship).

It's definitely a shame that about it being in SD with little hope of a cleaned up HD release. However it's one of the few series where I will try to overlook that.
