M9 is the overall better one, not sure what he meant either but it was not correct. M9 is superior in every way. The M5 is still a great system but is not as fast as the M9 and is missing the third band which is better if you plan on using them only wireless with no ethernet backhaul.



No it is not an upgrade, the Orbis are better. As for your buffering issue do you have them daisy chained where one RBK20W has to go through another RBK20W before talking to the router, that is probably causing your main issue if you do?



Yes both the TPlink and Asus Onhub on latest firmware will mesh with this google puck, but honestly your better off just getting another Onhub, its a lot more powerful and cheaper.

I just got the M9 Plus 3 pack from Costco for $199. A better deal for better coverage in my 3-story home. M5 for speed if you can do Ethernet backhaul, M9 for wireless speed and coverage.

Was looking to add a point to my house and couldn't get one for under $150. So I bought one of these refurbed routers and will set it to AP mode. Should work almost as good as the 2nd gen.

Could you please elaborate on the "m5 for speed" comment? I was under the impression that the m9 would be better for speed because of tri-band vs the dual-band of the m5.

I have these backwired throughout the house and they are pretty bulletproof so far. Only issue I have is if I want to make a device prioritized, I can only choose 1/2/3 hours and then it reverts to normal priority again...

Would these be an upgrade to an Orbi RBK20W? It's an RBR40 router plus the plug in satellite. We recently switched to YouTubeTV and my Roku Express Plus units keep giving "frequent buffering" messages even though we're on a 150mbps plan. It's not all the time, but usually in the evening when we finally have a chance to watch a movie, lol.
