Staples will take up to 5lbs of paper for shredding. They will weight the paper before it is placed in the shredding bin. Make sure you print the coupon and bring it with you.

Will they shred it right in front of you? Or do you have to leave your papers there?
The Staples near me uses Iron Mountain shredding service which is picked up and shredded off-site. They weigh your items to be shredded, and then you slip them into the slot of a locked hard-sided garbage bin.

Can't speak to Staples business practices, but they do run this promotion regularly. I rarely buy from Staples, but I do use the shredding service when they offer a coupon like this.

I once saw an Iron Mountain bin in the lobby of my office building. It was standing unlocked, full of papers, with the lid open in the middle of the lobby. I do all my shredding myself now
The unlocked one could be for general non-sensitive information.
I've seen companies that have both. Mostly companies that generally have tons of papers to shred. The unlocked ones are easier to use (just toss junk mail in) so it helps the lazy ones. The locked ones are for sensitive material. (also another objective is to to keep the locked ones from getting too full of just general junk paper that they don't care about.)

Sucks that you can't just show them the coupon from the phone :/
True - still, it's great they offer this, but many of us no longer have printers.

I did this w\them many yrs ago. IIRC, no cpn was necessary @ the time.

I'd go & try to do it from the phone, but I can't seem to access it.

The staples I went to allowed me to weigh out 5 lbs of paper for each coupon I had. A manager came up during it and told the employee it was actually one five pound amount of shredding only. It all went into an Iron Mountain trashcan with a large padlock on it. No employee even touched my paper. I got 30 lbs done.
