Yeah, I got in on the G3 with 1660 TI Max Q for $700 including the $150 GC, so actual price was ~$550! Included 512 GB SSD too. I don't know what they're thinking building these with only 256GB, seems like a step backwards for a higher price.

Pretty good deal. The $1008 price is pretty good for an i7-10750H, 1660 Ti and 144 Hz display. Added bonus in TB3 which is hardly offered by other laptops at this or even higher price point. Also, what I heard is that cooling is slightly better in 2020 Intel model over the 2019 model.

Can a far wiser nerd chime in: is the first laptop the best deal here? I mean, it only has an i5, but that 1660Ti is going to take it further than the 1650, which has limited VRAM? It's like the lowest price, but wouldn't this one likely have the best gaming FPS performance compared to the i7 variant?

Also, I have to think for the money, door number 3 (i5 plus 1650Ti) is no good when you can pay less for the 1660Ti?

Also, thought I heard there was a $100 off Dell Amex special somewhere? that could make door #1 a pretty sweet deal for the money?

may be just covid-19 supply chain problems driving up cost AND increased coronavirus lockdown demand for electronics working against things...

That deal is the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet on anything else, I'm willing to wait and see. How are the hinges on this model anyway?

Assuming you mean the lowest price laptop posted here, this Dell has a 60hz screen, is smaller and dim and I'm unsure of the color accuracy. This has half the SSD. This is actually available right now.. but it's not smoking. I've seen this as low as $699 - maybe lower? The screen really pales in comparison to the HP.

I bought the HP last week too. Im interested in the comparison as well:
HP
512SSD>256SSD
144HZ>60HZ

Not sure if the Dell is the Max Q 1660 but I know the HP is

Other threads say the Dell gets way too hot, thats my concern with it

I like my G3, but it is (a bit) on the heavy side for a laptop - 5.18 pounds
G5 is 5.95 lbs, just so you know.
