100% wrong. Read the actual warranty not the scare language on the website.

Probably because the nonsense that this matters has been debunked exhaustively in the last 9,783 LG TV threads.

The actual warranty doesn't care if the dealer is "authorized" or not- you can tell by reading it.

LG OLEDs do not have HDR10+. Ultimately that doesn't matter to me though because Dolby Vision is the one that is much more widely supported.

One other thing that hasn't been mentioned that makes the LG CX an improvement over the LG C9 is that the CX has 120hz BFI vs the C9 which only has 60hz BFI. That is most beneficial for those that watch sports. And for those that point out that the C9 has the full bandwidth of 48Gbps vs the 40Gbps on the CX, the C9 will never use the full 48Gbps because it's only a 10 bit panel, as is the CX's panel. It will only ever use a max of 40Gbps. LG has claimed that going down to the 40Gbps allowed them to put more emphasis towards processing power. That part can be up for debate.

FWIW Best Buy is already showing the upcoming Vizio 65" oled for retail of $1999. I'm expecting sale prices to be lower than that and LG will have to come down to match. The Vizio will do both DV and HDR10+ from what I've read, while LGs will only do DV.
Just my two cents, but while I hope that is what happens, I find it doubtful that this will actually put pricing pressure on LG for the C and G series OLEDs. I see it much more likely that they instead drop the pricing of the B series to be more competitive

I read that these won't be out until the fall. Have you heard differently? I just moved into an apt and my gf is wondering why we don't have a tv for the family room after 3 weeks lol

Very possible!!! In my view because the Vizio does multiple hdr formats, it is better than the entire LG lineup.

Ultimately I hope a price war starts and the prices fall. Philips is supposed to launch oled here as well.

I wish I knew launch timing. I'm hearing that vizio in general has royally messed up their 2020 launches, probably due to some covid impacts.

If there is any way to wait until Black Friday (closer than we think)...that could be ideal.

I personally will never, ever buy another Vizio product. Even their high-end products are plagued with serious bugs that regularly affect performance and require a full power-cycle. The M-series TV I bought last year from Costco regularly reboots and freezes regularly, has issues powering on or responding to inputs. Same for a top-end Vizio soundbar I purchased around the same time - regularly loses audio and needs a power cycling.

Well I'm not familiar with what has been posted in all the other LG TV forums here concerning the debunking of the unauthorized dealer list since I have happily owned my OLED since 2017, until I noticed burn in and dead pixels recently. Obviously it is now outside of the original warranty and after calling LG, they made it apparent that if I hadn't purchased the TV from an authorized dealer (purchased through Fry's) that they wouldn't have offered a cash reimbursement (normally they would do a panel replacement, but I have a curved OLED and they don't make those panels anymore). So yes, it's probably true the 1 year warranty is still honored, but when it comes to outside of the window of the warranty, LG can easily reference that list and not offer the complimentary panel replacements that people have been reported getting.

It's very weird they would tell you, who bought from an authorized dealer, that "Hey if you had bought from some rando third party you'd get nothing"

Like- why would they even bring that up since it doesn't even apply to your case?

In any event, ANY goodwill gesture outside the warranty period is just that- goodwill. There's no legal obligation no matter what from LG.

But the actual warranty doesn't care who you bought from so long as it was a US model purchased and used in the US.

Obviously they didn't say what you typed, or anything like that. But if you use some deductive reasoning, you can see why they would even bother asking for a copy of the receipt even though I was outside of the 1-year warranty. Plus, after doing some research on some Reddit threads, there were some people that reported being denied the complimentary panel replacements because they didn't purchase from an authorized dealer.

So in the end, 1- year warranty should be applied no matter where you buy the TV from. Outside of the 1-year warranty, don't expect to get any type of help from LG unless you purchased from an authorized dealer.

Great price, I would be on this if it wasn't the seller. No experience with them but based on the reviews it looks like it takes 3 weeks for delivery and there is very little communication on when the TV will actually arrive. Anyone here familiar with them?
I've been buying from Newegg for about 20 years. my tv is on the truck to me as I write this.

I bought a 65 oled from a different discount dealer 4 years ago...im pretty sure it was abctv or the like (they were based in NJ and probably changed their name). mine arrived with a dead pixel. LG honored the warranty and made a replacement.

fast forward 4 years (now) and I have burn in on the screen. Neither LG nor Mack (extended) will do anything.

Lessons learned: LG should cover the warranty no matter where purchased, don't purchase extended warranties...they are useless, and anytime not playing ps4...either turn the TV off or switch it to on air programming.

one more thing..if you get white glove delivery...be prepared ...the guys are in a hurry. plus all they do is turn it on...and show you the LG splash screen. you pretty much need a white screen to immediately see a dead pixel. otherwise you need to watch HD content for like 5 minutes to find it...but i doubt the delivery guys would wait.

Going to 2nd never buying a Vizio TV again. You get what you pay for. Cheap parts with a great screen. I bought Vizio's first 70" 4K TV when it came out on the market for $2000.00. Less than two weeks later the board died in the TV requiring a replacement. While I still have it, the TV interface is slow and and a pile of crap.

I have the C9 and really from my experience TVs like OLED and plasma do not really improve much over the previous years model , every two to three years is the sweet spot

what TV you have now?

Also fair. I've been debating on spending extra for another oled or going with one of the quantum-x's. Woot has had the qx refurbs in stock for seemingly months now, at crazy prices. But it makes me wonder if a) people just aren't interested (not a good sign) or b) there are an embarrassingly large number needing refurb'd (also not a good sign).
