That makes no sense. This is a basic, generic laptop. It does not compare to the more featured and powerful macbook Pro. Did you read the screen type on the Dell???

I don't understand why a vga port and not usb-c (w thunderbolt) especially when it already has an hdmi port.

Expandable (bays) but not really (RAM)?

My Vostros have had years of BiOS updates, including extra RAM and CPU upgrade support. E.g my 1500 went Merom->Penryn and 4GB -> 8GB max.

No really, Costco is selling the Macbook Pro 13" with similar specs for 1k. But with an aluminum shell and touch bar.

Resale value in 5 years will probably be 70% while this Dell will likely be worthless.
