Renewed Acer x34p Predator 34in LCD Monitor 21:9 Display UW-QHD (3440 x 1440) 4 Ms 100 Hz $599

While deciding on $699 Costco deal I found this one on Amazon.
It's ships from and sold by Acer Recertified Store.
It's also backed by Amazon Renewed Guarantee:
This product is eligible for a replacement or refund within 90 days of receipt if you are not satisfied. Get quick support for claims and free troubleshooting via Amazon Customer Service. The guarantee is in conjunction with Amazon's standard return policy. Learn more about the Amazon Renewed Guarantee

Not the title nor description says it's a x34 or x34p, but the Q&A and reviews confirmed it's a x34p. I don't mind to save $100 + tax on a renewed one, especially I can return it to Amazon in 90(or 120?) days!

Amazon is pretty bad at backing the "renewed" products sold by third party. Acer Recertified Store does not seem to have great reviews (81%). I would just buy brand new from Costco and get Costco's satisfaction guarantee.

You're also foregoing the Acer new product 3 year warranty. If cost is the ONLY criteria, this is a decent price.

I would avoid going down this path. I bought and instantly returned a refurbished x34 last year. The light bleed was exceptionally bad on it.

The depth nixed it for me. Was almost at edge of my 24" D desk.
Would be nice if GPUs output anamorphically.
It'd be possible to get a 50" 4K TV & output at 21:9 with black bars....

Easy way to lose panel lottery? Like buying a used scratcher...

I don't see the Acer x34p on Costco's website. Care to explain what the "$699 Costco deal" is you are referring to?

It sold out at Costco last night and the listing was removed this morning.

100hz. Bummer. If your willing to drop $600 on a used monitor chances are you've spent at least that much on your graphics card. If you have you're not doing yourself any favors bottlenecking it. I might have given this a shot if it pushed at least 144hz.

If no gsync isn't a deal breaker, buy a monoprice 35 inch ultrawide instead. Brand new for 399, same resolution and same refresh rate.

The Monoprice 35in Zero G monitor [monoprice.com] you're talking about has a VA panel, so it's a completely different category than the IPS panel of the Acer.

I bought one of these a few years back and don't recommend it. Came with scratches all around and the screws for the mount broke off inside the monitor and they refused to help me with it. Buy new and avoid the hassle

I can't comment on the refurb quality, but this monitor is fantastic. There is a bit of a panel lottery in terms of back light bleed, but if you get a workable one then this is easily the best sub-$1000 gaming monitor I've ever used. Great colors, G-sync, good enough refresh rate (IMO), doesn't look tacky or super gamer-y, and solid build quality. The only issue I've found is that the blacks could be deeper, especially when playing in a dark room, but I only notice it playing particularly dark games like Metro Exodus.

Plus, unless you're gonna spring for the top of the line RTX 30-series this fall, it's relatively future-proof. Running 3440 x 1440 at 120hz (overclocked) on big titles is tough, so this monitor probably won't be the weak link. And, for me at least, sacrificing some fps for ultrawide is more than worth it.

I was happy to pay $850 new a few months ago. If you can get a good unit out of this then it's a fantastic deal.
