They aligned with what TMO promo values were at the time, as that's where the trades go. But these won't stack, it's really trade for a single phone or BOGO for two. But right now if you have an iP8 you're sitting pretty @ $500 value.

You are paying off the phone at activation because you're buying the device in full at Costco. You just need to wait 40 days to request unlock
That was golden age for freebies. It's now BOGO most of the time.
There is $150 samsung credit per device which is pretty good.
