AMD generally offers more value per $ depending on the games you play.
Both are good cards though many would recommend waiting for the 3080/3090 in September, the 3070 in October, or the 3060 in November... Then there's what AMD may release....but if you don't want to wait, I totally get it. Those cards will be hundreds $s more than this.

AMD's stuff should be announced in November or so, so waiting at this point is prudent.

Every time NVidia releases "new" line it's the same bull$hit pipe dream; "Wait and the prices on old stuff will drop like a rock....". Yeah sure.... I've got 1080ti at the beginning of last year off eBay for $230 and that's YEARS after it was released. Hell when the 2000 series was released the 1000 series went up in price.... Bottom line is that the prices on 3000 series haven't been even released. For all I know NVidia is NOT going to give them away for anything less then what the 2000s launched at. More likely add another $100 if the performance gains actually are there.
