Same basic game play as the standard Ticket to Ride game. The board takes up significantly less space which can be a plus. The game play is pretty dang quick. The downside to this is that it tends to increase the luck factor. While this would normally be a downside for me (TtR has a decent amount of luck anyway) the fact that it's so quick largely makes up for it. You aren't going to set there for 15 minutes knowing you're @#$%ed. And with the quick game play you can easily play a best of three or whatever if time permits, which will help tilt things back towards skill more. Box is compact for those of us with storage issues.
All in all I think it's a fun addition to TtR if you'd like to play a quick game now and then. Works great with two players. Pretty much a no-brainer at this price or the $10 price it shows up at semi-regularly.
Target in Commerce, CA had a ton yesterday. Probably 25+ copies at $5.98. I was able to grab 2 as gifts. Also found the Resistance on sale for $5.98 as well. They were clearing out a lot of board games.
