edit: Groupon has confirmed in this thread that both the $40 off $250 online code and the $40 Shop Card expire at the end of January.
Also, the Groupon offer itself is available until August 31st.
Remember to sign up at BEGINNING of the month as membership always expires at end of month, 13 for 12.

I purchased 8/21, but redeemed 8/22, and my Costco account reflects a start date of 8/22. So in theory, you should be able to buy the Groupon today and wait until 9/1 to redeem (so your Costco membership expires on 9/30 of next year).
I have driven by it several times since then, during weekdays. Parking lot filled to the max, I keep on driving. At this rate I don't know if I'm going to use up my GC unless I can do it online (I should look into that).
Anyway, in a Covid world.... Costco is about the last place I want to be. Imagine going to Ikea on a Saturday, x100. Madhouse.

Signed up today and was able to stack this deal with the mil/vet sign up bonus of $30 promotional card.
Slickdeal for sure! Thanks OP
How do you stack both the deals? Could you please provide the steps you took?
I had to go into my member details afterwards, and Add my Visa for Auto Renewal. Will I still receive the incentives?
Certainly....
Do the deal as OP did, then when in store at customer service, state you at active or prior service military, show proof and they will add both to your account. YMMV because will depend on customer service.
I bought, processed and there was no where to select AutoRenew or not AutoRenew..
- There was a box for storing your credit card... but that had no reference to AutoRenew.
SIGH.. So I have no idea if their faulty systems which were setup by a moron, will actually provide me the incentives or not. .It looks like I might have to call corporate and explain their stupidity to them in 4-6 weeks.

Their web development team is terrible.
//EDIT:
I went to setup auto-renew.. and we can't setup auto Renew with a mastercard (even though it is a debit card which is claims is usable until you actually try to add one.). It requires Visa and does NOT allow a debt card like it states ?
WHAT THE ABSOLUTE KIND OF SH*T SHOW IS THIS ?
GROUPON and COSTCO NEED TO LEARN HOW TO USE ENGLISH.
It should say ; "VISA CREDIT OR VISA DEBT".. it doesn't.
