Excellent twist on the RPG genre and easily worth it at this price. And it feels like a big game, but the scale is small enough that it doesn't feel limited in handheld mode at all.
I'd suggest watching a gameplay video or two to see how the mechanics work before buying. It's pretty unique, so probably worth seeing whether you like the style.
I try not to be a naysayer but do NOT buy this version of the game. Load times are TREMENDOUSLY SLOW compared to other consoles or PC. You will hate every transition between the card game and combat.
I agree. This is a fantastic series that is unique in that it mixes a light RPG + deck building + "choose your own adventure" book-type choices with 3rd person combat when fighting.
Also, I believe the first HOF game won some GOTY awards for "Best narration", for the constant dialogue by 'The Dealer'. His banter and comments really make the game an experience. Great value for $10 IMO.

I haven't been bothered too much, but I can see where it would be frustrating if you've played a faster version elsewhere.
This is one of the best games I have ever played. It takes the uniqueness of the first and adds even more depth and replayability. I have only played this on PC, but this game is worth every penny.
Played on PC. One of my favorite games of the past few years. Was very sad to see developer to go out of business. Hope someone picks up where they left off.
Fantastic game. It feels like a one on one D&D session with a friendly but sometimes sadistic DM who laughs at your mistakes. You win cards to build a deck to help fight different scenarios. Sometimes you need certain abilities or weapons to beat the scenario to win more cards to get better. Good story but the Dealer makes the game fun and unique.
