This thing is taunting me, still waiting on the large Wen (56380i) to be in stock but this keeps price dropping and with Amazon backing...

I have this generator and can recommend it so far. I use it to power a portable AC occasionally as well as an electric pressure washer and it handles both with ease. I had a leather repair guy come by to repair some sofas as well and they plugged their tools up to it and ran it all day with no issues.

Seems that way. I would have expected 240 also but I'm no expert

Champion and Briggs have the only 240v inverter generators for under a grand.

For using as house emergency power, esp with this amount of power, it would be nice to be able to power a well pump or a wall AC unit.

It will also enable you to power both buses of your breaker box if you use an interlock kit without resorting to modding your cable and/or the busbars themselves.

At 3700 watts this can power absolutely anything with a plug, even up to 240v 20a plugs EXCEPT this doesn't do 240v.

For plugging into the house, I'd find something a bit bigger like 6000 watts just in case you run some electric stoves
