If you have a digital camera, camcorder, or GoPro that can output HDMI, you could purchase an HDMI to USB capture card/dongle for about $11 off of ebay [ebay.com] and use it as a webcam

Youtube review [youtube.com] of the capture card.

And, here's a twitter thread [threadreaderapp.com]which goes into more technical detail about the $11 capture card

Some highlights:
1080p@30fps
720p@60fps
20ms delay (close to Elgato Cam Link)

That's garbage 720p only. Skip that. We don't live in 2005 anymore.

This what you are looking at on Amazon? If so, it's not the same.

Does Sams change the model numbers slightly on electronics like Costco does so you cannot price match?

If you need a cheap webcam for school while you wait for a good deal on a good one, buy a Wyze V2 and a double USB-A cable. Wyze provides free firmware to flash them into a webcam. It also has a speaker and microphone. Not bad for the price if you are in a hurry.

C922x was $50 last Black Friday I would suspect the same if you can wait a few months
Maybe if COVID is cured by then? All the decent webcams are in short supply because so many people are flocking to Zoom, Meet, and the like.

So new to needing a webcam (been getting away with just doing calls but I guess now required to start turning on video). $64 seems a bit much for a webcam. Is this the going rate or what makes this better than average? I saw it did 1080 but not sure what else I'm missing.

Apologies I'm a newb on this and just stumbled into this post as I haven't begun the hunt for a webcam yet but see my local Sams supposedly has stock. - TIA!

$64 is quite fair for this nowadays.

It shows in stock online but if you go to store they can't find it. Waste of a drive.

i got this for $40 late last year. i really wouldn't call this a deal. you can search it here on SD, and that deal didn't get as many likes. something fishy going on here.
I don't know if you would consider it "fishy," but as others and I have stated, stock on webcams have been a lot lower due to more people working from home and slower production due to the pandemic. My friend just bought the C922 in late July at $99.99 after waiting for weeks. Another friend purchased a semi-used C922 on eBay for almost $150 in June or late May. I think stock has been coming back more consistently, but a lot of people seem to want webcams as soon as possible.

I hope this provides clarification,
Tofu Vic
