The Echelon Connects magnetic flywheel offers 32 levels of resistance

32 levels of silent magnetic resistance lets you vary your workout intensity
I missed that info, thanks for clarifying!

Question for people who ride regular bikes and have something like this, do you use your indoor bike very often? I typically ride fifty to a hundred miles a week outdoors year round so I'm not sure how much I would actually use this. I like the idea of having it especially since the idea of going to a gym seems like it'll be bad for a long time. But I can also see using it only 5 times a year.
As a general rule of thumb I set mine up in a three seasons room during the fourth season and makes for perfect riding with overhead fan. Otherwise I am outdoors, but really enjoy during that time. I personally use zwift with a on wheel trainer.

I'm assuming the rides are no where close to pelotons being 1/5 of the price but I'm still thinking about getting it..
Idk if it's been said, but Peloton was VERY affordable when it came out. Because of that, they couldn't get buyers, so they jacked up their price in an effort to look like a luxury brand. It worked and they became popular with the same quality bike all because of the brand image. Peloton makes a great product, but at $3k, no thank you.

I've had this bike for a month now. I'm 6'2 and I am on the max seat setting, so if you are any taller I would definitely look elsewhere. Otherwise the bike is great. You'll need to find a conversion chart to pair up with the peloton app
my wife will primiarly ride, but I'm 6-4 and may ride occasoinally (I use a Kickr in the winter) What is your inseam? Mine is 34....wondering if this could work.
also, any issues with the fact that handlebars don't adjust?

I feel if you are spending this time kind of money I would prefer to wait for something that adjusts the resestance automatically for zwift. Also don't belive this even works with zwift like the schwinn / bowflex model does.

Peloton bikes have 0-100 resistance. If you are using the Peloton app for classes can you replicate the same resistance with the Echelon or limited?

Is there a way to track cadence on peloton app via Bluetooth vs using the echelon app separately?

Peloton owner here.

Staying dedicated to fitness is hard for most and the leaderboards I feel keep me pushing myself. I am pretty jaded they reduced the app to $13/mo. I'm essentially paying $26 more to have my stats on screen and the leaderboards ontop of the already overpriced bike. But whatever it is a investment into myself and happiness.

I don't believe anyone has fully hackintoshed a peloton yet but it's only a matter of time.

I went ahead an bought one.

Wanted a Wattbike Atom (new version) but it won't be released until at least december, and close to $3k. Idea was so that we didn't have to trainers in the house. I use a direct drive trainer, wife a dumb trainer

So, I'll get her this and maybe I'll use until winter when I'll set up my trainer with my road bike.

I'm 6-4, so this likeyl won't work well for me, but for rainy days when I can't get ouside, and gyms still closed in my state and I may never go back, this will be passable I think.

I did a ride on a echelon that auto adjusted resistance and I didn't like it. I like to control the resistance myself. The peloton challanges keep me motivated and my resistance and HR up.

Peleton is a belt driven bike, with a ~40lb flywheel and magnetic resistance. If you can find a bike with the same specs it is going to feel about the same smoothness as a Peleton. You can use a Bluetooth cadence sensor ($40) and a Heart Rate monitor, but only with the iOS Peleton app, because the Android app has fewer features. I built my wife a fake Peleton out of a Sunny bike for ~$1000 including an iPad and she is pretty happy with it. You cannot fully participate in the leaderboard if you don't have a real Peleton because the app can't measure your resistance and power output, only cadence. (I'm sure Peleton also does this on purpose to encourage you to buy their overpriced bike). Even though this bike has built in smart features I highly doubt they are compatible with Peleton app. Good luck!
