Wonder if this will drop to 399 sometime before end of year.
I got this bike for $499 back in January but who knows what the holidays and Black Friday will look like.

Why does Walmart state a 500 pound weight limit, I find that odd.

This question has been asked several times in this threads but I haven't seen any answers yet:

How does this bike compare to the Sunny SF-B1805?

Good deal, has the big 3 (1) cadence, (2) resistance numbers, and (3) watts. On top of that, it connects to Strava.
Connects to Strava? I didn't see that anywhere. I read the Echelon was proprietary and only connects to their app.

Ha ha. I gave in already after resisting for 2 days. I thought better to just buy it than being miserable for more days.
You're right... resisted for a day and a half, not sold out yet, now I can't wait for August 26th for delivery.. Damn SD got me again 😂

I read the freestyle/free ride mode works with Strava without subscription.

I don't think so. I only see the Strava icon under my profile - not in the freestyle ride portion of the app. Pretty sure you have to be an Echelon subscriber to connect to Strava....I just checked in the app and when I click Strava it asks me to 'upgrade'. Looks like the only things free are the Freestyle Ride and Apple Health, basically.

Looks like IC4 is about $300 more on sale. It includes a backlit LCD console that monitors heart rate, speed, time, distance, calories and RPM. The cadence is just a bar graph - saw complaints about that. It has 40 pound flywheel, which might be heavier than this one.

Connects to popular cycling apps via Bluetooth like RideSocial, Zwift, and more, but not sure what all metrics actually show in those apps. I read that the calorie output is off by a factor of 2X, so you win all your races. Resistance is still manually set on the bike. So, is the biggest advantage of the the Schwinn is that it's using open standards for these metrics via Bluetooth so that they can be displayed directly within those various apps instead of having to use multiple apps or add a separate cadence sensor due to the Echelon being proprietary as they try to lock you into their expensive $40/mo apps?

I assume it also connects directly with Peloton Digital and that some metrics are shown in that app. I read that the resistance setting still doesn't match Peloton.

One thing I see missing from the IC4 is "output watts", which people say is a feature not normally found in a $500 exercise bike like the Echelon Sport.

All in, the Schwinn IC4 doesn't look bad for $800 if you can get the metrics directly in the various apps using open standards as well at its included LCD vs. the proprietary nature of Echelon requiring their own app to display those. I like the over-all feedback on the Echelon, and I saved 5% with cashback through Paypal funded by Discovercard.
After some further review, this appears to be confirmed. IC4 connects directly to Zwift, Peloton Digital, and other apps directly while the Echelon Sport is proprietary and only connects to to the Echelon app, which is $40/mo to get similar functionality to those other apps. Or, you can buy a $40 Wahoo cadence sensor to add to the bike (as you would any other cheap bike) to feed cadence into those apps. So for $500 + $40 would get you about the same functionality with those apps as the Schwinn IC4, which is $800 at BB but out of stock. Or does the Schwinn IC4 still win out for sending additional metrics besides cadence to Peloton Digital, Zwift, and other apps that the Echelon plus Wahoo cadence sensor still doesn't match???

I'm debating whether I should cancel this order and just buy speed & cadence sensors to use with my existing bike and Cyclops fluid trainer. And if I want power readings and automated resistance, I could buy a smart trainer down the road. I don't like the proprietary nature of the Echelon.

Edit: It looks like there's not much advantage to having the cadence in Peloton anyway if you can monitor it with the Echelon app along with your power output. Also, the reviews of the Android version of the Peloton app are pretty poor. It looks like those metrics are more useful to have directly in the app when using Zwift, but you can buy the Woohoo sensors. The Echelon subscription at $40/mo or at $25/mo for two years paid upfront, looks terribly overpriced, maybe four-fold.

From my reading of this thread, you can use the Peloton app on this bike. And the echelon app does provide cadence.

So are replacement pedals universal? I need pedals with SPD clips so I can just order them off amazon or whatever, right?

I came looking for a monitor deal and ended up buying a stationary bike...
Now into more important business, for those looking for mat size the one sold by Echelon is 27x47 https://echelonfit.com/collection...itness-mat

The Echelon app does provide cadence - it also provides a reading of resistance (0-32 levels), Speed (mph) and Output Power (watts), calories, speed, and various averages. But that's all within the Echelon app.

What I was clarifying was that the bike has ZERO integration / connectivity with the Peloton Digital app and other third party apps such as Zwift due to the proprietary bluetooth data from Echelon trying to lock you in to their own app, which is why you have to buy the Wahoo cadence sensor to get cadence information into third party apps. Some people use it with Peloton, but they say they still need to use the Echelon app to see their stats. The Schwinn IC4 that others were discussing uses open standards to interface directly with those apps - no third party sensor is required to be attached to the crank.

So in summary, yes, you can use the Peloton Digital app, but there's no connectivity/interfacing between Peloton & other third party apps with the Echelon Sport as sold.

I'm still debating whether to cancel the Echelon. It seems like a good bike otherwise, and full integration with those apps may not be that important in practice, and I could add the sensors, but then I already have my standard bike and $300 Cyclops fluid trainer, which I could add sensors to for Zwift/Peloton integration and save $500. I would lose "watts" completely, though. Hmmmm

Here's the how-to video.

I'm unsure though, if a monthly subscription to Echelon is required in order to port stats over to Strava. If so, that's a deal breaker.

Looks like on Echelon's website they claim 6'4" is the max height of the rider with some customers who are 6'8" doing fine with it. I wonder why some are saying 6'2" is the max? i'm 6'4" and this is the only thing stopping me from getting on this deal.

The Sunny has better physical components with a belt drive instead of a chain which is much quieter and the belt lasts 3-4x longer than a chain. The Sunny handle bars go forward and backward unlike this Echelon which only goes up & down. Flywheel on the Sunny also looks heavier which gives a more natural feel to a real bike. Echelon looks more modern though, and the technology of built-in cadence, speed, and power meter are only found on more expensive bikes. You can add a Wahoo cadence & speed meters to the Sunny bike for about $70 more but power meters usually cost several hundred dollars -- though not really critical as the former 2 metrics.
