I made the switch a few months ago from Dish. I like the cheaper price, but it isn't that much cheaper since the price increase, but the thing that is frustrating the most is having to watch commercials for any on demand recordings. I'd be willing to pay more to eliminate commercials.

And the guide is crap compared to Dish, can't set to record new only & can't delete watched programs. Dish Hopper 3 dvr is much better (IMO).
To each his own but I don't see the point of TV anymore. Live sports was keeping it alive but now that's gone or is a joke.
The prices are absolutely a joke. I wouldn't even consider youtube TV unless you had 3 people to share it with, and REALLY needed it for sports. You could sign up for every major streaming service, get 24/7 ad free access to thousands of hours of content, and still pay less than cable.

Surprisingly I tend to agree. I recently dropped DirecTV and their $185 per month programming. At first I was concerned I wouldn't be able to make such a drastic change but I quickly found that I don't watch live TV anymore and anything else I wanted was essentially on demand. Even YouTube TV is overpriced and not worth the money.

I just set my youtube tv subscription to pause through the end of the year. lack of what I'd consider real live sports and a new phenomenon of programs on channels not having "rights to streaming" is what did it. the "this channel doesn't have rights to streaming" warning might be the single most infuriating TV experience I've encountered, first world problem, but what is the point of this streaming cable package if you can't stream the programs on the channels?
Well...the problem that I see for cable television thru the internet is bandwidth.
