They send a welcome email at first within a few minutes.
THEN later comes the coupon in another email, (approx half hour to 40 minutes for me) so yes deal is live. JUST wait for the 2nd email.

I know it's free so shouldn't complain much. However, from my experience, their brand of microSD card sucks. I had two failed in the last 9 months. They are totally unrevivable. Granted I got them for free as well. If you plan on putting memorable pictures or important files on it, make sure you back them up. So far, I have pretty good luck with named brand cards, such as SanDisk and even PNY.
I posted this deal as "Microcenter - 32GB Flash card or flash drive - Free coupon".
The title has never changed for me. It still says that as I'm looking at the thread right now. The URL even has the same wording and logging out, still shows the same title and url.
edit: If I were to guess, someone else posted that title and they merged the thread together into my original thread.

Received the coupon email immediately. The barcode won't load, though the number adjacent to it shows up, so I'm hoping the store can just use that to enter the coupon.

Picked a pair of these (one 32gb usb-stick, one 32gb microSD card) up today.

I too thought the email was too good to be true, and just said to the cashier that I had an email for a 32gb USB *and* microsd... he picked them up without any fuss.
datapoint. went to the one in tustin. presented a coupon and the guy said it was for a micro sd OR a usb. not both despite the coupon being very clear about it. Anyways good thing I had 2 coupons on hand so he allowed one coupon per item.

Funny how he allowed more than one coupon per customer (normally against policy) but didn't allow what the coupons pecifically stated.

I used to choose microcenter over best buy/frys electronics. Until one day I was building 3 computers for friends and picked parts from the used/return pile. Didn't realize til I got home that I grabbed the wrong motherboard for one of them, came back immediately (about 20minutes later) and was accused of bending the pins on the motherboard. Treated like a criminal, called the manager over he said the same thing. I said I didn't even open the box and that since this is in the used/return pile it could have been the guy before me OR people generally open the boxes in store and mess with things. They can't 100% say its from me. Anyways I had to bite the bullet, so I went home and ordered from someone else. Since then I avoid purchasing at microcenter unless I have to.

I've noticed on 2 separate occasions since then a similar things happened to other people in line in front of me. All of which at the Tustin location, some of the employees there just don't seem to want to help you either. Weird how microcenter used to be known as "the mecca" where employees are friendly and knowledgeable compared to fry's and best buy. BTW best buy has an AWESOME computer components section now (at least the Costa Mesa location in Orange County).

Did you use a disposable email site? That also happened to me.

Its also the customer's fault, people tend to abuse the system. Trust goes away in highly diverse societies, its like how Lands End started with a no questions asked return policy, I'm not sure how long that can last anymore, there are stories of how much a burden its become as people no longer have shame.

The next generation will probably never see the inside of any of those stores, so enjoy them while you can.

I actually used my junk email, which often takes forever to receive emails because it's an old Yahoo account, so I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up right away. I believe Microcenter already had that email address, if that made any difference. That's likely the case, since I did not receive a welcome email first.

Of course they are giving them away free, these are crap quality. I was visiting some relatives and needed 3 flash drives to get some files moved for them.

We bought 3 of the 32GB drives, ended up with 2 out of 3 failing. The first failed after copying 25gb of photos to it, disk was unreadable, corrupted garbage when it got to their other computer. The second failure was DOA. The 3rd drive did not fail, but was horribly slow.

Confirmed failures and poor performance across several computers. I would not trust important files to these junk drives.

FWIW MicroCenter flash storage items are reliable, but some have slow write speeds.

Edit: This USB is cool for stuff like dropping a movie/tv show to watch on PS4, and microsd is cool for writing a retropie image for raspberry pi or recording a 1080p video.
I wouldn't rely on anything but Samsung/Sandisk for things like thousands of memorable pictures/videos.

I've been using a couple flash drives from micro center for 6 years now. I don't know what you're doing with your flash storage but these obviously aren't meant for security cameras, running full-fledged OS's 24/7, or things of that sort. If you're using them for 25GB of photos, that's about 25,000 photos at an average of 1MB/photo. Do you know how long it would take for any device to index the files? Use common sense, and buy a $10 samsung flash drive from amazon which is meant for that. Or better yet, a 2.5" SATA SSD with an enclosure. This is for basic stuff.

Yeah me too. And I had to say Yes to a list of travel questions. They seemed well stocked with these as the cashier had 4 boxes ready to distribute.
