Thanks. I still have it in my cart as I'm not sure if prices are expected to drop within the month or if I should start a new build now. I have an old i5 2500k that needs to be replaced.

eh.... that CPU is $350 at MicroCenter and the motherboard is $149 when you buy at the same time... so $499

You're not necessarily wrong, but they don't ship and many (most?) people aren't anywhere near a microcenter. My closest one is 2 hours away, not really worth it.

I'm seeing a lot of Intel discounts everywhere, ahead of AMD's next gen 4000 series desktop chip release in September. So I'm thinking everything may drop after that.

They definitely should be. As much as I hate to admit it, reading articles about the next AMD gen and the possible problems Intel might have with Nvidia 3 series cards, it looks as though AMD might finally surpass Intel when it comes to performance in gaming and might be the standard in rig builds going forward. Was going to grab a 10th gen this month, but I'm gonna hold off a little longer now and see.
