I'm a professional home builder. Bought a skid of these about a year or two ago because I thought it was a good deal. Put Several in a new build. Had problems with everyone as they are loud and non adjustable. Do not buy.

Spend the money and go with minka or hunter.

We bought this exact fan to replace one that was dying in our bedroom. The old fan had one of those four-stem light kits loaded with Cree bulbs - total of 3200 lumens. This fan has a single light bulb, and the largest bulb that will fit is an A19. 100 watts is the largest I could find, and that's only ~1600 lumens. I tried an A21, will not fit in the glass.

Easy install, and the fan looks nice, but if you're planning on using this as the primary light source in a medium-large room, look elsewhere.

Usual 700 lumens bulb . not bright enough as only light in the room.

I believe 99. It's not too difficult to do yourself even if you have to add a brace.

Anybody know if this can easy be converted to use a downrod? I like this price, but not sure if it makes sense with 10-11' ceilings.

I am one of those who uses 5000K (or even higher if available) for lighting. I am thinking of using this to replace this for my lighting fixture in the kitchen. The lighting fixture used 3 bulbs which were A19 5000K bulbs. Can you tell if the light is this can use A19 bulb and if I were to use 5000K brightness, do you think 1 light is sufficient in my scenario where I am using 3 bulbs and that too bright light?

I've installed several of these fans in my home. They can not be installed using a down rod. Another con is only one bulb so likely not good for a kitchen where you need lighting. Otherwise these fans are solid, quiet, bracket has slot for wireless remote transmitter.

Scroll down to the Specification. Under Mounting Type. It will tell you if you can use down rod or not.
