Oops - can't use the 15% off code on this item. Still a good deal. Best price I've seen for this phone plus service/tlk/txt/data combo

Thanks!

Does the Moto G7 come with a pre-loaded Tracfone G7? If so, can I simply take that SIM card and use it in other phones?(an unlocked iPhone, for examle)

Thanks again!
Yes, & needs to be activated in the G7. I've put active sims in unlocked phones for months before & just used the TF as a wifi device.

I put sim back in orig TF after a year & was still able to unlock the TF - but who knows if that's still possible since it was last year. YMMV since TF is known for being inconsistent.

Unlock with a new year service, or without service?

I added a 30 day plan to what I already had & it unlocked online. I had another that required intervention from support before it would unlock so it's not always that simple.

What do you need to know? Tracfones are unlockable after a year of service (their policy is online) & Motorola phones have all 4 network bands. It says Verizon only because it comes with a Tracfone Verizon sim, but Moto G6 from Tracfone is the same way.

Thanks for the unlock info, I know someone would post it. Not that I'm happy waiting a full year though.
Think I read that TF now requires you make a phone call every month or three but that might be a different plan. How could they require it if you've already paid for the minutes?
Some possible deal killing info coming soon...

You just need to show some use & not let phone sit too long - I think they declare it inactive but will reinstate if you contact them. I just send a text or make a call every once in a while, can always set a reminder in your calendar.

I know nothing about the G7 Optima Maxx (because it's a Optimo Maxx) but I bought the new model Moto G Power 2020 (8th Gen.) mainly for the large battery. While waiting for delivery I started researching (backwards - research THEN buy) and found several users had problems getting LTE data with Sprint's MVNOs (Tello etc.). Lots of info on reddit and Lenovo (Motorola) forums.

Returned the G8 and bought a Moto G7 Power (same size battery) and could only connect at 3G for data. I can live with that now that I don't drive much and use WiFi at home, but still it ISN'T fully functional.

Just a FYI but you might want to do more research than I did before/if you purchase.

Tested my TF version with both TF Verizon sim & TF T-Mo sim, both worked great which is surprising since other phones don't pick up T-Mo very well in my location. Tracfone has been using the same (Moto & Samsung) phone models for all 4 of their companies lately - Tracfone, Straight Talk, Total Wireless & Simple Mobile so they can buy in bulk & just change out the branding software & sim cards.
