KNIPEX Tools 95 61 190 Wire Rope Cutters 7.5-inch Amazon $31.63

Highly recommended in the bike mechanic community as the best available wire rope cutters along with the Felco C7.

Can be used for cutting bicycle Brake and Shifter inner cables, without causing fraying. Can also be used for SOME of the housings.

KNIPEX 95 62 190 has thicker, more comfortable grips.

I can't compare but I do have the Park cutters. What frustrates me is the little loop on the handle that always seems to fall into place between the handles to prevent me from getting a good cut on a cable. I guess it is easy enough to just remove it. Other than that, they work fairly well.... no complaints.

Edit: Actually, I do have another complaint. The ferrule crimper on the Parks seems to have too large of a gap to get a solid crimp. I have to crimp a couple of times to get the ferrules to stay on.

The questionable part of the Knipex in this deal is how large the opening is. You definitely want a cutter that can cut the housing for your cables otherwise you'll need another tool to do that job. OP mentioned "Can also be used for SOME of the housings."

I also have the Park cutters, and they've served me well for a long time... like several decades. I think I bought them in the early 90's (!), when I was a bike mech at REI. No idea if current Park stuff is the same quality. I've always figured I'd replace them with Knipex or Felco when they stopped cutting well, but they still get the job done.

Ah, I didn't even consider that this may not be able to cut housing. Good call. Will have to look into it.
