After careful reviewing this S2721Q vs 2K dell S2721D there is definitely bit of gloominess present on this while working on documents specifically on white background. Now that may be because antiglare coating is more visible on this in terms of very tiny particles, like some dust is present on the screen.
Anyone else having same experience?
Now I believe same coating also there on 2K model but less visible because of larger pixel size or orientation of those pixels.
Also 2K model is definitely brighter than this one.

How is the color quality on both models? Would you recommend against the S2721Q?

From what I can see S2721D is little more brighter and has less haziness (specially on white background it is noticeable) and thus little more vibrant color wise if not by much. I am running S2721D on native 2k resolution without scaling and S2721Q on native resolution on mid level scaling on my Macbook Pro 2019,thus character size of both are pretty much the same (and where I found my comfort level for office work).
While the "Q" series characters are a little sharper (you do not see pixels on chars) contrast wise "D" series may have little more advantage (again not by much).
All this may be because of haziness that I mentioned may be due to different screen technologies/pixel orientation/anti glare used on them, I am not sure.
Another point is 4K model has left and right edges slight dimmer and noticeable. 2K model is more uniform.Viewing angle on 2k is little better then 4K before discoloration starts.
As an end user doing office work mostly on characters either will work but S2721D will save you some money only downside is PPI.
I received two S2721DS today. One for each kid. They look good. Pretty fancy.
Two questions. Will there be some calibration guide later? When I bought my TV, someone published a set of parameters/settings to adjust and it helped. They have fancy tools so that they can set things exactly right. So I am looking for such tutorials. Any one has ideas?
My daughter uses PC and my son uses MacBook Pro. The monitor looks better when used with PC. Anyone can offer some explanations? And how to correct it? It looks a bit murky with Mac. On PC, it is crispy clear. A bit more satisfactory.

I am using default monitor settings for S2721D and it's pretty good, except for brightness and contrast reduced to 70 and 80 respectively to suit my lighting conditions.
Regarding PC looking better than Mac , make sure you are using same resolution/scaling and whatever documents you are comparing.
for S2721D QHD I left at default resolution and no scaling on my Mac it looks great.

Any chance you could post a photo of the uniformity problem you're experiencing and how it looks on each monitor? Trying to decide whether it's going to be annoying or not. I

I had the same issue. The problem with back light uniformity is pretty noticeable especially on white background. Here's a photo of the S2721Q.

Here is one picture I took earlier. One of them was pretty bad, Other one is not better by much.

Anyone getting repeated delayed delivery messages? I ordered on 9/17, initial delivery date was 24, then changed to 25 and now to 9/29. Concerned if this moves out again. Appreciate your response.
Can this monitor do Netflix 4k HDR? I know it's not true HDR cause of the peak brightness. Trying to compare to the LG 27UL850 with Vesa 400 HDR which is certified i believe.

No USB-C and associated features (e.g. Power Delivery)
Lesser/older spec of Display port (1.2 vs 1.4)
There are likely others due to the significant price discrepancy between this and the U2720Q
