Sprint (now part of T-Mobile) [sprint.com] is offering a free handset line for existing and new customers from
9/2/20 to 9/17/2020. The end date may be extended, depending on how many free lines are added during 9/2-9/17. [Promo is still alive and has been extended as "limited time offer" with no end date]
You can BYOD or buy new phone, can be combined with any existing phone offers such BOGO, LOGO, trade-in discount, etc.
Existing customers must have at least two paid handset lines on their accounts to add a free line. New customers must order at least two paid handset lines to add a free line. Handset lines and voice lines are the same thing and are used interchangeably, which include minutes, texts and data, in Sprint/T-Mobile lingo.

From how the billing system works, I think you can possibly get max 3 free lines from this promo - 1 from reserve, another from BYOD, and another from buying a new phone, unless a Sprint rep manually remove any of the promo code from your account. Any other additional free line that sticks will be an early Christmas gift from Sprint, but I doubt it.
It says free line on us on the order confirmation? Either way be prepared to pay for it, doubt it'll be free.
carrier Lock is not AN issue, have many of my friends who did used locked phones they got off ebay no issues got their rebate cards (costco deals)...
You know if tmobile cares if the phone's LCI (liquid contact indicator) says water contact?
my weekend..
Customers can get a $250 Rebate when they BYOD, activate a new line of service, and port in a number.

Damn, if only they had this earlier, could've gotten it with the free line 😭. Still would come out ahead though, I could add a line and keep it active till I get the card(probably 2 months)

My SWAC XS Max has $47.xx for 24 months to upgrade to 11 Pro Max. But the Free Line On Us I got last June BYOD 6 Plus has a big discount at $36.xx.
If I upgrade to 6 Plus to 11 Pro Max now for a cheaper price and then later swap phone between my 2 lines: is it possible now or I have to wait 24 months?
I'm also planning to cancel the 2nd paid line after one year. If I'll lose the free line credit because of it, I may cancel both soon as I don't need 3 lines.

Yeah I ported the second paid line and lost 3rd. I lost the discount within 36 hours and received no notification about it, just checked online. To complain, I said a rep told me I could cancel a line(this was true). After quite a bit of waiting a supervisor said he'd credit me $470, which I of course accepted. I then ported back the line I cancelled for $50 credit(i got a text about this) and then ported it back out. So $520 in credit which will easily pay for my SWAC and June free line for the year.
And yeah, I'm like 99% sure you won't get to keep the free line if you have only 1 paid line after 12 months. Just like you, i have no need for more lines(whole point of me being on SWAC to begin with). Terms say you must maintain an eligible line count which would be 2 paid at the least, just like how T-Mobile does these. No matter what any rep promises you none of them have the power to restore the MAC code once it's gone because it's system generated and automatically removed.

Thanks for everyone's help. In case anyone is having trouble with the trade-in of iphone 6s, i would say just call in and tele sales can help you out. I think the sprint website has issues. I think iphone 11 for 200 after the trade-in credit is a pretty good deal, particularly with the free line promo
