Bought this a few weeks ago for my kids to homeschool with. It's great. Boots fast, responds fast, it's light enough for them to carry (they're 8 and 9), but can render videos quickly when they have to record and post for school. Battery seems to last forever. Vega 6 does decent at games like Minecraft.

Just be WARNED that you can NOT connect 2 monitors to this laptop ( if you need to connect for work or any other purpose) due to low technical specs. FYI... just hang up with LENOVO support.

not directly but you can always buy a usb display adapter such as https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-G...25&sr=8-19

it basically adds a new videocard to your laptop been using it for the last 3 years no issues

I was going to order the Acer swift 3 (Lighter, thinner), but then the more I think about my six years old carrying around an aluminum laptop. I can picture him denting it the first day. Sometimes, plastic is better for kiddos. This one has more memory than the Acer (Acer cannot upgrade) SSD. I can always upgrade a 1TB for less than 100.

What happened to the 4700u version that was 750 at Costco? I can't find it being sold by any large retailers. Bought one for my wife and it's a great replacement for her 4 year old i5 Acer surface clone. Wanted to buy another for my sister in law because she and her old laptop had a meltdown while she was teaching through zoom, but it's not available anywhere. I want to say though I'd prefer HDMI over USB C to minimize setup for dual monitor docking mode. This one requires you to plug HDMI in its own slot.

glad to be help.

there are also complete docks you can purchase that does the same thing but also include other ports for keyboard etc. just make sure the dock has DisplayLink which is the popular external videocard. definitely not for video gaming but for office work its ok

I was on the fence buying this because the other thread mentioned bad screen/color quality and other limitations. I'm glad I did buy it. Its for a grade school child to perform remote learning and it is more than enough to do the job. I've had the laptop for over 2 weeks now and it boots up quick and really responsive. I've been using it everyday for web surfing and watching videos intermittently about 4 to 5 hrs a day and battery life is pretty good. i usually charge it over night and its good for my day usage. Hasn't run warm or hot which is a plus. Is the screen that bad? I don't think it is. It def is dimmer in comparison to a MS surface pro. I also have a MS surface pro 5 w i5 and surface pro 6 w i7 for comparison. Given the price points, this is a decent machine for remote learning and basic/light usage. My only complaint is the track pad is a bit flimsy but besides that I've been using this more than my MS surface pros. This is my first AMD Ryzen machine and I'm very impressed with the speed! I've been an Intel guy for a long time but now I know what all the fuss is about the new AMD processors!

Yea AMD did not order enough chips so many OEMs have run out. Demand has been really good for Renoir amd chips.

I was also going to order the same laptop from costco but they are still out. Frown

The color can be resolved by download amd software. However the screen is indeed very dim that I kept mine on 100 all the time just enough to see... Even at 100% it's only about 70% when compared to other laptop with ips screen. That is the solo reason I'm returning mine as everything else is perfect....

Picked one up and so far I'm happy with it. The only thing is the WiFi on it does not seem stable for PS4 remote play. Can anyone recommend a good wifi card to replace the one inside? Thanks!
