If the "display device" is hooked up to a windows pc, it can be calibrated with any spyder. To calibrate a projector you just need to "show" the spyder the picture on a tripod. The spider 4's had this feature, the spyder 5's still had the tripod mount and it was an undocumented feature. The trick still works with the latest spyders.
I know noone wants to hear "just pay double" but the X-rite i1Display (used to be called color monki) is worlds better and wont degrade over time.
So if you just want to true up an ips display (and maybe charge your freinds 10 bucks to true up their displays) get the $100 spyder. If you depend on color for a paycheck/side hustle, or want to use it for more than 2 years, get the x-rite.

Again for truing up an ips display, they can still do it better than a human with color index gifs and color gels, even if they are past their expiration date.
The spyderX gets you MUCH faster calibration speed. You can plop down in a new room with new lighting (the pro uses the back eye ball for room calibration) and be up in running in 30 seconds. But its not going be a better calibration vs a spyder 4/5.
However if you are calibrating an OLED or MVA or old plasma, or any other display type other than IPS, the spyders are going to suck when it comes to grey scale and shadow detail. They will redshift those displays and crush the blacks since they can not "see" black levels below that of a standard ips display. And those little blobs of jelly in your skull will auto adapt to the redshift and you wont be able to tell unless you have a correctly calibrated display right next to it.
I would double check your settings as HDR on windows is a nightmare to get working correctly. But if its a 10 bit mode, or its just a display that converts 8 bit to 10 bit to prevent banding/stair stepping, you should be good with simply selecting 10 bit instead of 8 bit in nvidia control panel.
EDIT: that is a HDR10 monitor that is already factory calibrated. I would not bother with a $100 meter. You will need a idisplay pro plus that is over half the cost of the monitor to calibrate it. It should have come with a color profile to load.

You have genetically different Cones type/arrangement in your eye, but you have functional Rods.
Even if the case is to true up the RGB grey balance, that's an improvement even you could see.
The type of colorblindness that results in only the rods being functional is very severe, and results in difficulty reading since there are no rods in the macula/fovea. Most colorblindness is really just color deficiency. It's kind of like 16-bit or 20-bit color compared to 24-bit or 32-bit. I can still see green, red, blue, yellow, etc., but not to the degree of separation as most people. I often have trouble telling the difference between black and dark navy blue. I have trouble with purple and blue or pink and gray. Sometimes brown and green may look similar. You can put two colors beside each other, and I can tell that they are different, but not necessarily be able to correctly identify them.

unless you have two monitors that are almost the exact same, then it won't match.
lots of graphics people use only 1 properly calibrated monitor and the others are just reference.

There is 2 main differences between the X and the 5. The X has a real silicon lens in front of the organic gel filters to protect it and reduce bleaching out from heat/humidity, and it uses a different sensor.

Spyders do not use dichroic filters that do not age over time. If you can find 1 tear down that says the spyderX uses inorganic filters i will rescind my statement.
This is what I did. Branded i1Display Pros can be found on eBay for a lot less.
The NEC-branded version I got new, for $20 shipped works perfectly fine with DisplayCAL.

I bought my first one for $49 shipped in 2019, and have a 2nd one NIB I picked up for $21 shipped.
Patience is a virtue (so are eBay saved searches).
but the csr said she cant but she can issue a refund. So, shipping mine back. 60+ is pretty big
