    For preordering the Series X - I'm assuming you can stack two of these and then pay the remaining on a CC? If so then $20 off seems like a no brainer.

    Very easy is imagination. Can it be done? Yes but requires hoops for average Joe. Let me guess: go to grey market site like cdkeys, buy Brazil Xbox live card, get/use vpn, set your region to Brazil, redeem card, set region back to US, enjoy Xbox live. Not exactly very easy. Very easy would be buying from Amazon or wherever is preferred, get code via email, enter code.

    Costco has also regularly has $100 Xbox gift cards for $89.99 maximum of 3 per order (not sure if that's per account or actually 3 per order).

    Only thing stopping me from getting 5 to cover the cost of the Series X before taxes is I fear I won't be able to order through Microsoft in time before they sell out. Kind of don't want to be limited to 1 retailer

    I don't know. What's the math on buying $100 GC from Microsoft to purchase Live? I don't think MS sells 12 month cards for Live any more. It's just on a 3 month basis, or less.
