Membership Activation Certificates are not redeemable for cash or merchandise nor is it a debit or credit card. Costco Membership Activation Certificates are not redeemable at Costco.com or outside of the United States. Visit Costco.com to find the warehouse location near you. Membership Activation Certificates do not expire and there are no dormancy fees. Membership Activation Certificates cannot be used to purchase additional Membership Activation Certificates or a Costco Shop Card.

I know lots of Costco fans hate on other warehouse stores, but when we were maintaining both Sam's Club and Costco memberships last year we basically stopped going to Costco. Nothing beats the ability scan and pay with an app, skip the lines and have the door check people just scan a barcode on my phone!
