So how much cutting can get done with this pair?

I have the little brushed version and that seems to run out of the 3ah lipo battery pretty quickly...

I have this setup. With a diablo blade it struggles to cross cut a 2x6. All of the ryobi loyalists on FB have told me I'm using it wrong... I've got almost 19 years working in a commercial construction company so this isn't the first saw I've ever used.

Generally now, I only use it for cutting up garbage that is 1x stock. Anything larger and I use the recip

Either you got a dud, are using too small of a battery, or...gulp...are using it wrong.

There is no that way a properly functioning one (used correctly) should have any trouble with a 2x6.

Yep. I've got about 6 batteries of different size and hp/non hp. They all seem to do the same thing. Batteries work great on my other stuff, just not this.

I'm also concerned about the "oomph" behind this saw. I've wanted one for a while but the corded 14 amp version is half the price and doesn't have any concerns about binding. The corded versions also have a laser to help with cuts.

How many cuts/length can one get out of this saw with the 4 Ah battery?

I was able to rip four 4x8 sheets of 5/32 plywood into thirty-two 6-inch wide strips before my 3ah battery died. This was my first cordless 7-1/4" saw, so I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

I've had this saw for nearly a year, and I probably wouldn't get it again; due to poor accuracy and flimsiness.

The center of gravity is really off-set when the battery is in, so it wants to tip; also the base will flex from the body if you apply a modicum of downward force. This means keeping the saw flat and square to the cutting surface requires more effort than it should. Also, the bevel adjustment is supposed to stop at 90 degrees but out-of-the-box it would go a little past that if I set the adjustment all the way to the stop. So I attempted to adjust the stop to exactly 90 degrees, but cuts still had a slight bevel. After many failed attempts, I finally realized the base itself was bowed in the middle - like an upside down dish - thus making it impossible to truly square the blade. A dust port would have been nice too.
