Good deal for those who grabbed the base game for free the other day from ubisoft. Can't comment on this DLC personally since I just got around to playing the game for the first time this weekend but the game seems like a blast (especially if you have someone to play with). Decent graphics too. Don't know how long this deal will last but I grabbed it for myself today.

Edit: Looks like other Tom Clancy games [ubi.com] are on sale too (Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, & Splinter Cell games). Most seem like good games from what I can tell, but I'm way behind on a lot of games. Not sure what's a killer deal as I haven't been following their prices. Obviously this Division Season Pass seems like the best of the bunch simply because the base game was free a couple of weeks ago.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I have 1000s of hours into div 1 and occasionally I will still play a survival round here or there. You're asking me something completely subjective of course. I find the mechanics of 2 to be horrible. There's far too much AI to run into while trying to get around on the map. They added so much to do which would have been great but man the mechanics are far worse and it's just not as fun to play imo. Still a visually beautiful game. It's a fun play through as well. But there's no great sets and teams to make up like tanks, glass cannons, a healer and so on. Nothing to grind for imo. The gear is not as fun as it was in 1. They went in some new direction that wasn't asked for and it was a real failure. And they refuse to make the changes that people have begged them for. I wish they would just scrap
It at this point and update 1. But that's never going to happen. If you are into looter shooters it's fun. And I'm not going to complain since I got my money's worth. I probably still put in somewhere between 50/100 hrs. I haven't checked. That's not bad bang for your buck when I bought it. But Div 1 will always be one of the best games I've ever played. And survival one of the best DLC in a game I've ever purchased.

Edit. I tried to give you rep points and it says I gave you 0 rep points. Not sure how any of that works. It won't let me go back in a give you any. And Div 1 is my favorite modern game I've played. Hope you enjoy it. I blew off huge amounts of steam playing that game with buddies. I wish I had a game that gave me the same enjoyment as that game did.

I played the hell out of this game. Survival alone is worth way more than $5 imo. Should be at minimum hours of enjoyment. And all for $5? Ive wasted $5 on much less. Sad to see the state of Div 2 and their refusal to do certain things like a survival option.

Is Division 2 not as good overall though?

Division 2 is much better for PVE content. PVP sucks, and it might be one of the worst games to ever PVP in.

But they took everything good about PVE in Div1, and improved it in Div2.

Agree about pvp but disagree with pve. They gave you more pve content but the loot to grind is abysmal. The builds are not anywhere near as fun as 1. Even though there's more to do, there's no reason to do it imo. Of course like I said earlier, it's subjective. And there's no convincing me the armor mechanic and movement is better than 1. We canCome to agreement that there's more to do. I also didn't find it as fun to play with friends since there's no real build diversity or need for it. It's just dps builds.

Also, and while subjective, the location and environments of 1 was more enjoyable then 2.

Grenade Cooking build is the funnest shit ever on D2. I liked D1 but D2 is just so much better in my opinion and it just has so much more content and maps.

If you have 1000's of hours in Div1, you likely spent most of that time in the DZ, ganking kids with m1a's, shotguns, or the vector at first, and then either pred or nomad with a reclaimer guarding you.

The build diversity you talk about in Div1 wasn't there either. It's not really there in Div2 PVP either, but for PVE you now have tank, status, healer, marksman, 6 red m1a w/ vigi and glass cannon or focused, but then you have negotiators and intimidate/adren rush.

The Division is in the best place it's ever been with build diversity, and Div2 got rid of chicken dancing and reloading while full speed; 2 much needed changes that has improved the game long term.

Raids, the main story, the invasion stuff, and then WoNY is about 5x more stuff to do than Div1 ever had. I played Div1 from the first Beta, and then Day 1, and that game was so broken beyond belief until the last year of it.

Thousands hours player here as well on both Div 1 & 2. I agree with everything you said. One thing to mention not being debated here is Div 2 did finally add some green gear sets for roles like tank, healer, tactician, etc and that helps a lot with diversity but like you Div 1 was the best, Survival, hell I was playing that every night this past week and also doing some Level 19 DZ with all purple gear lmao.

Nah they really f*cked up when they started time gating loot behind content, making players come back every week to complete a certain mission for a certain part to craft something a month later, hardcore Div players want to grind for best gearm, not be held back. Plus locking specific loot behind certain areas like the raid or dark zone. I never had a problem obtaining the loot but a large part of the player base did. And the global events in Div 2 are utter trash. No fun or reward in them at all.

The new summit skyscraper mode is pretty boring. Levels repeat, no 'windows' in this skyscraper, its more like a dungeon.

Same here, it's great. Still encounter about 4-5 players a session and way more on weekends (Survival Saturdays & Sundays)

Missions, yeah but not 'content'. There's no Resistance, Underground, or Survival, Last Stand, Incursions... In div 2 its conflict or mission mission mission. Even the 'manhunts' require you to run the same damn missions.

How's D2 been the last while? I haven't touched it since right around when the first paid DLC dropped (prior to raids). I played end game content for quite a while, but gave up since finding the right mods and better equipment just took forever. Gunplay did feel great, though. I didn't care much for DZ/PvP since I never developed a group to play with (and clans were a joke at the time). I picked up D1 during the giveaway, and I'm debating between giving that a go or trying out D2 again.

Division 1 did the same thing, with Global Events. This isn't anything new with either the Division, or video games in general. They also locked exotics behind certain missions in Div1 for over a year.

Skyscraper is resistance 2.0. Also, resistance didn't come out for over 2 years after Div1 launch. And the 4 incursions.... Falcon lost was terrible, clear sky was 8 minutes long, and finally some improvement with Dragon and Stolen.

Also, Underground was a terrible game-mode at first, and was later fixed to be "better". Survival is, and always will be an amazing game mode, that came out in the dark days of Division when most people had already quit. Last stand was ok, but was marred by people AFKing by healing, and the 1 shot seekers.

I agree about the global events in Div2, but putting on rose colored glasses for Division 1 because it was a unique game, does everyone a huge disservice. That game was so utterly broken from Day 1, and only was fixed in the last 8 months of it's life.
