For example, if you met the minimum spend for the sign up bonus in the first month the card was opened, the statement closing date was probably October or November 2016. If you met the minimum spend in the 3rd month that the card was opened, then the bonus may have been awarded in January or even February - again, depends on the statement closing date. You can check your first few statements in that account to know for sure.

Could i collect the 100,000 miles and then switch to chase reserve and use those miles in that card where the points are worth 1.5*
To be clear, sharing data points that Chase isn't matching isn't a bad thing - though between here and the more useful CC forums, the DoC folks have more than enough reports on that point. The idea of 'complaining' with the idea, if not a sense of entitlement, that the DoC folks should be able to provide assistance in making Chase change their minds is not helpful. As a former blogger (not anything re. finance), folks like that were annoying as hell.

Having said that, most people chasing points have received a Sapphire bonus in the past 48 months since they had signed on to the Reserve's incredible 100K bonus in late 2016.
1. Will downgrading to Freedom Unlimited change my actual card number?
2. To reapply for the Preferred, do I need to do a new application showing income? Or could I just request the credit to transfer from the Freedom Unlimited? Would I still get the new points?
3. Anything I'm not thinking of that would need to be taken care of if my current Preferred is my primary card and I don't want to mess anything up?
Thanks!!
2. Yes, new application. They may not ask for income if your credit score is good and they have experience with you.
Separately, in a "product change" everything is transferred, lock, stock, and barrel, including the date you opened the card that is being transferred.
Nope already tried.
BTW, they told me that if I had received the bonus within the 48 month time frame, they would not approve the application. So for those who are searching for the exact date of their 2016 application, don't bother.
Worth pointing out- Chase generally will not let you product change until you have held the card for 12 months- so the original person asking could [B]not[/B} get this for the larger signup and then instantly PC into a CSR- they'd need to wait a year from the card opening date.

Separately,
1) Do they strictly use 12 months or allow after 11 months so you can product change to a new fee card before you are billed for the annual fee?
2) Which credit card companies force you to stick around with a card for 12 months before allowing a product change? Chase , Citi, BOA, Amex?
Thanks.
