It's 4 years since receiving the sign up bonus.
You have to wait 4 years since opening the first one before you can get another.
The application date or the card open date doesn't matter. What matters is the date that you received the sign-up bonus. That date is probably the closing date of the statement in which it was awarded to you.

For example, if you met the minimum spend for the sign up bonus in the first month the card was opened, the statement closing date was probably October or November 2016. If you met the minimum spend in the 3rd month that the card was opened, then the bonus may have been awarded in January or even February - again, depends on the statement closing date. You can check your first few statements in that account to know for sure.

I though you previously referred to product changing a visa freedom to flex mastercard, which is allowed. Maybe I missed the context if you were discussing something else from an earlier post.

on what basis you saying that is allowed ?.
I had an interaction with CSR just yesterday and downgraded my saphire to freedom unlimited. CSR clearly said saphire/freedom/freedom unlimited cannot be downgraded to freedom flex, bcoz of visa and master difference

For those considering this card, you may wish to wait for a few days as enhancements may be coming along for other Sapphire cards...

1a). The relevant time limit re. approval/bonus for Sapphire cards is 4 YEARS, not 2 years. Being under 5/24 is a necessary, but not sufficient condition for getting a new Sapphire Preferred/Reserve card.
1b). No. The plain Sapphire is still a Sapphire. Holding any Sapphire card = auto rejection of your Sapphire Preferred application.
2). See 1b. If you have multiple Sapphires currently open, they are safe as-is. But for new Sapphire card applications, you need to have 0 (ZERO) Sapphire cards of any kind open.

My wife and I spent a night there the weekend of its post-COVID reopening in July. It really is a wonderful resort, and Big Sur generally is amazing. Thanks to the various, still active Hyatt rebates for points redemptions, it only ended up costing 22.5k Hyatt points/night. Crazy deal.

Although the 25% points rebate is still active, they have raised the standard room rate to 48k points. Almost no dates available before the promotion ends though. Sounds like you got an incredible deal.

standard rooms are still 30k/night, albeit very hard to find. The 48k rate that you are likely seeing is the lower of the 2 Suite redemption rates.

General question: Citi will not allow you to "product change" your Citi COSTCO card to another Citi card. Correct? If yes, what happens if Citi, hypothetically, loses, the COSTCO contract, to, for example, Chase Mastercard. In such a scenario, will Citi allow a product change to another of their cards?

This is not an unrealistic scenario. You may recall that a few years ago, Amex lost the COSTCO contract to Citi Visa. Do you recall if at that time, Amex allowed product changes to other Amex cards?

Is chase gonna sweeten this card? I feel like mine is useless now with my freedom unlimited giving me 3% dining instead of 2%

Looks like the 48k is for the Standard Suite. Unfortunately, I have searched every night individually until the 25% points back promotion expires, and there are no nights for 30k left. Hopefully they will extend it, or more open up for points.

The BOA Cash Rewards credit card seems too good to be true with a reward structure that is very competitive with BOA's Premium Rewards variant. What gives?

I downgraded from the Chase Sapphire Reserve card to the Chase Freedom Flex card yesterday with no problems. I told the rep I wanted to do a product change- she asked no questions, just proceeded with the transfer, warning me along the way that the card number would change with the transition to a Mastercard.
